Probable cause affidavit: SUBMITTED BY: TAYLOR, SHELLEY 0401 (AR07100723) DID UNLAWFULLY ENTER OR REMAIN IN A CERTAIN CONVEYANCE, TO-WIT: A 1989 MAZDA PICKUP TRUCK, THE PROPERTY OF THE VICTIM, WITHOUT SAID PERSON'S CONSENT, WITH THE INTENT TO COMMIT AN OFFENSE THEREIN, TO-WIT: GRAND THEFT, AND THE SAID CONVEYANCE WAS NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AT THE TIME, AND MR DAVID GOODBERRY, THE DEFENDANT, WAS NOT LICENSED OR INVITED TO ENTER OR REMAIN IN SAID CONVEYANCE, IN VIOLATION OF FLORIDA STATUTE 810.02(4)(B). ON 120807, THE VICTIM REPORTED THAT THE DISTRIBUTOR CAP AND ROTORS HAD BEEN REMOVED FROM HIS VEHICLE'S ENGINE. THE VICTIM ADVISED THAT HE USES HIS VEHICLE ON A DAILY BASIS AND IT WAS IN GOOD WORKING CONDITION. THE VICTIM STATED ON THIS DATE AT APPROXIMATELY 1730 HOURS IT WOULD NOT START. UPON INSPECTION OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, THE VICTIM OBSERVED THE ENTIRE DISTRIBUTOR ASSEMBLY TO BE MISSING. THE VICTIM STATED HE HAD NOTICED A SIMILAR MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE PARKED IN HIS NEIGHBORHOOD WITH THE HOOD UP. ON 121007, THIS DETECTIVE RESPONDED TO 2577 NORTH BUCKNELL TERRACE IN HERNANDO AND MADE CONTACT WITH THE WITNESSES. THEY PROVIDED SWORN STATEMENTS THAT THE DEFENDANT BROUGHT THEM A DISTRIBUTOR CAP AND ROTORS TO THEIR RESIDENCE FOR THE WITNESSES TO INSTALL IN THE DEFENDANT'S VEHICLE. THE WITNESSES FURTHER STATED THE DEFENDANT INFORMED THEM THAT HE HAD GOTTEN THE PARTS FROM A FRIEND. THE VICTIM RESPONDED TO THAT LOCATION AND POSITIVELY IDENTIFIED THE VEHICLE PARTS AS HIS. ON 121107, CONTACT WAS MADE WITH THE DEFENDANT AT THE ARREST LOCATION WHERE HE WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY, HANDCUFFED (DOUBLE LOCKED), AND PLACED IN THE REAR SEAT OF MY PATROL VEHICLE. THE DEFENDANT WAS READ HIS MIRANDA PER TEXT AND WAIVED HIS RIGHTS. THE DEFENDANT GAVE A FULL CONFESSION THAT HE WENT TO THE VICTIM'S RESIDENCE WITH THE INTENT TO STEAL THE DISTRIBUTOR CAP AND ROTORS. THE DEFENDANT ADVISED THAT THE PASSENGER DOOR WAS UNLOCKED . HE THEN REACHED IN AND PULLED THE HOOD LATCH AND REMOVED THE DISTRIBUTOR CAP AND ROTORS FROM THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE. THE DEFENDANT STATED HE THEN TOOK THE PARTS TO THE WITNESSES FOR INSTALLATION INTO HIS VEHICLE THAT WAS PARKED AT THE WITNESSES' RESIDENCE. A SWORN WRITTEN STATEMENT WAS COMPLETED BY THE DEFENDANT. THE DEFENDANT WAS CHARGED WITH BURGLARY WITH THE BOND SET AT $3,000. *NOT-EXEMPT*
