SUBMITTED BY: CHENOWETH, JACOB 0708 (AR11122225) DID UNLAWFULLY ENTER OR REMAIN IN A CERTAIN STRUCTURE OR CURTILAGE THEREOF, TO-WIT: THE DEFENDANT DID ATTEMPT TO GAIN ENTRY IN TO THE VICTIM'S RESIDENCE, WITHOUT THE VICTIM'S CONSENT, IN VIOLATION OF FLORIDA STATUTE, 810.02(3)(A). DID UNLAWFULLY, WILLFULLY AND MALICIOUSLY INJURE OR DAMAGE CERTAIN PROPERTY OF THE VICTIM, TO-WIT: THE DEFENDANT DID PUNCH THROUGH THE SCREEN DOOR BELONGING TO THE VICTIM, SAID DAMAGE BEING OF A VALUE OF $200.00 OR LESS, IN VIOLATION OF FLORIDA STATUTE, 806.13(1)(B)1. ON 081411 WHILE SEARCHING THE SURROUNDING AREA FOR AN ATTEMPTED BURGLARY AND VANDALISM SUSPECT (SEE CASE 11080553) THIS DEPUTY PULLED IN TO THE PARKING LOT OF THE HOMOSASSA RACE TRAC. AT THAT TIME I OBSERVED A THIN WHITE MALE SUBJECT WITH WEARING BLACK JEANS AND NO SHIRT ENTER THE RACE TRAC STORE. THE SUBJECT ENTERING THE STORE MET THE DESCRIPTION OF THE ATTEMPTED BURGLARY AND VANDALISM SUSPECT IN THE ABOVE LISTED CASE. AT that TIME I CONTACTED DEPUTY REID AND ADVISED HIM TO RESPOND TO MY LOCATION. UPON HIS ARRIVAL, MYSELF AND DEPUTY REID MADE CONTACT WITH THE SUBJECT. UPON SPEAKING WITH THE SUBJECT, LATER IDENTIFIED AS ALEX COCHRAN, (DEFENDANT) HE WAS ASKED WHY HE WAS ALL WET AND MUDDY. THE SUSPECT REPLIED HE WAS RUNNING THROUGH THE SWAMP FROM A HOUSE OFF OF TROTTER. THE SUSPECT WAS ASKED WHAT HE WAS DOING ON TROTTER. THE SUSPECT ADVISED HE HAD PUNCHED THROUGH A SCREEN DOOR WHERE HE THEN BANGED ON THE FRONT DOOR OF THE RESIDENCE IN AN ATTEMPT TO GET INSIDE. AT THAT TIME THE DEFENDANT WAS HANDCUFFED (DOUBLE LOCKED) BEHIND HIS BACK. THE DEFENDANT WAS THEN READ HIS MIRANDA RIGHTS VIA PRE PRINTED AGENCY CARD. THE DEFENDANT ADVISED HE DID UNDERSTAND HIS RIGHTS AND WOULD SPEAK WITH THIS DEPUTY. THE DEFENDANT ADVISED HE WAS NOT REALLY AWARE OF WHAT HE WAS DOING AND THAT IT FELT MORE LIKE A VIDEO GAME THAN REAL LIFE. THE DEFENDANT ADVISED THE REASON FOR THAT WAS THAT HE DRANK SOME MUSHROOM ORANGE JUICE AND FELT EXTREMELY HIGH. AT THAT TIME THE DEFENDANT WAS ADVISED HE WAS BEING PLACED UNDER ARREST FOR BURGLARY TO A RESIDENCE AND VANDALISM. SERGEANT GLAZE STOOD BY WITH THE DEFENDANT WHILE THIS DEPUTY RESPONDED TO THE 8265 WEST TROTTER TO MAKE CONTACT WITH THE VICTIM. UPON ARRIVAL I ASKED THE VICTIM IF HE WOULD BE ABLE TO RESPOND TO THE RACE TRAC TO IDENTIFY A POSSIBLE SUSPECT. UPON ARRIVAL AT THE RACE TRAC THE VICTIM, MR HECTOR NARAIN, DID POSITIVELY IDENTIFY THE DEFENDANT, ALEX COCHRAN, AS THE SUBJECT THAT ATTEMPTED TO GAIN ACCESS IN TO HIS RESIDENCE. I THEN TRANSPORTED THE VICTIM BACK TO HIS RESIDENCE. I RESPONDED BACK TO RACE TRAC WHERE THE DEFENDANT WAS PLACED IN THE REAR SEAT OF MY PATROL VEHICLE AND TRANSPORTED TO THE CITRUS COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY FOR BOOKING AND PROCESSING. THE DEFENDANT'S BOND WAS SET AT $5,250.00 PER THE BOND SCHEDULE.
