Probable cause affidavit: SUBMITTED BY: laughlin, jeremy 0617 (ar11120052) DID, KNOWING HER DRIVER'S LICENSE OR DRIVING PRIVILEGE HAD BEEN CANCELLED, SUSPENDED OR REVOKED, DRIVE A MOTOR VEHICLE UPON THE HIGHWAYS OF THIS STATE WHILE SUCH LICENSE OR PRIVILEGE WAS CANCELLED, IN VIOLATION OF FLORIDA STATE STATUTE 322.34(2)(A). DID UNLAWFULLY AND KNOWINGLY HAVE IN HER ACTUAL OR CONSTRUCTIVE POSSESSION A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, TO WIT: CANNABIS, COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS MARIJUANA, IN AN AMOUNT OF 20 GRAMS OR LESS, IN VIOLATION OF FLORIDA STATE STATUTE 893.13(6)(B). ON040111 AT APPROXIMATELY 1200 HOURS I WAS CONTACTED BY DETective EMRICK IN REFERENCE TO ATTEMPTING TO LOCATE A VEHICLE OF INTEREST IN PENDING CASES. UPON ARRIVING IN THE AREA OF WATSON'S FISH CAMP AND PARSONS POINT ROAD, I OBSERVED TWO SUBJECTS KnOWN TO THIS DEPUTY BESIDE A VEHICLE BEARING FLorida TAG 354TXA, ALONG WITH A WHITE FEMALE. UPON RUNNING the VEHICLE TAG, IT IDENTIFIED THE CO REGISTRant AS ALEXZANDRYA MORRIS and UPON RUNNING MS MORRIS' DRIVER'S LICENSE IN D.A.V.I.D., I WAS ABLE TO VERIFY THAT SHE WAS THE FEMALE STANDING BY THE VEHICLE. D.A.V.I.D. ALSO REVEALED that HER LICENSE WAS CURRENTLY SUSPENDED UNDER TWO SUSPENSIONS, SINCE FEBRUARY OF 2011. SHORTY THeREAFTER, I OBSERVED THE BLACK FOUR DOOR BEARING TAG 354TXA DRIVING WEST ON PARSONS POINT ROAD, TOWARD HIGHWAY, 41 IN WHICH MS MORRIS WAS DRIVING SAID VEHICLE. AT THAT TIME A TRAFFIC STOP WAS INITIATED AT HIGHWAY 41 AND COUNTY ROAD 486. UPON making CONTACT WiTh MS MORRIS, I REQUESTED HER IDENTIFICATION, REGISTRATION AND PROOF OF INSURAnce and ADVISED her i stopped her for not having a valid license. upon speaking with ms morris, i smelled a faint odor of cannabis emitting from the VEHICLE and observed a small baggie sitting in the back seat that was filled with the contents of a tobacco blunt. i asked ms morris if she had any weapons or contraband, to which she ADVISED she did not. at which time she provided me with the baggie from the back seat to prove it did not contain any contraband. ms morris stated she believed she had her license re instated after she paid all her fines in order to pay the citations she received that she had not previously paid. ms morris then provided me with a florida identification card, at which time i asked her if she had been to the department of highway safety and motor VEHICLE (dhsmv) in order to have her license re instated, to which she had not. ms morris then stated that she is only trying to make it back home to st petersburg and "if i could just give her a break". at that time i asked ms morris to step from the VEHICLE, at which time i asked her to search her VEHICLE and requested her sign a permission to search form, which she did sign and complete. this form will be turned in to records. upon search of ms morris' VEHICLE i located a small ziplock baggie located under her driver seat, which contained a green and brown leafy substance, commonly referred to as cannabis. it should be noted there was numerous blunt wrappers and discarded tobacco filling, along with cannabis shake, through out ms morris' VEHICLE. also while searching ms morris' VEHICLE, i located a dark blue beanie located in the back seat, which included several items of interest to include one gps docking station, one blackberry car charger, one unknown car charger, one ipod docking station and one hands free headset. these items were photographed and collected and ms morris signed a property receipt and was provided a copy. at that time ms morris was ADVISED she was being placed under arrest for DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED knowingly and possession of cannabis less than 20 grams. per ms morris' request her VEHICLE was left secured in the parking lot of sabina's diner and she was TRANSPORTED to the CITRUS COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY for booking and processing. upon arrival to the detention facility, she was issued florida UNIFORM TRAFFIC CITATION, number 3199-gjx-1, for DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED knowingly, with a court date of 042111 at 1300 hours at the citrus county courthouse. the cannabis was weighed at 6.5 grams and her bond was set at $500.00.
