SUBMITTED BY: WEATHERFORD, DAVID 0710 (AR10118215) did, knowing HIS driver's license WAS EXPIRED FOR A PERIOD OF OVER FOUR MONTHS OPERATE A MOTOR VEHICLE upon the highways of this state while such license or privilege was EXPIRED, in violation of Florida Statute 322.03(5). ON 120410, I WAS TRAVELING NORTHBOUND ON HIGHWAY 19 IN THE AREA OF THE RACE TRAC GAS STATION IN CRYSTAL RIVER, WHEN I OBSERVED A WHITE SUV EXPLORER BEARING NORTH CAROLINA TAG, YPN3715, EXIT THE RACE TRAC GAS STATION AND HEAD SOUTH ON HIGHWAY 19. AT thaT TIME, THE DRIVER MADE A LEFT TURN INTO THE LEFT NORTHBOUND TURN LANE WHERE HE WAS TRAVELING IN THE WRONG DIRECTION. I THEN EXECUTED A TRAFFIC STOP IN THE AREA OF THE FARMER'S FURNITURE LOCATED AT 657 SE HIGHWAY 19. AT THAT TIME I APPROACHED THE VEHICLE WHERE I MADE CONTACT WITH THE DRIVER/DEFENDANT, MR ANTONIO GONZALES. I THEN RAN THE DEFENDANT'S TAG AND DRIVER'S LICENSE THROUGH FCIC/NCIC AND discovered THAT THE DEFENDANT'S TAG HAD EXPIRED ON 111510. UPON RUNNING THE DEFENDANT'S NAME THROUGH FCIC/NCIC, I discovered THAT THIS NORTH CAROLINA DRIVER'S LICENSE HAD EXPIRED AS OF 112508. WHEN I SPOKE TO THE DEFENDANT, HE INFORMED ME THAT HE HAD BEEN WORKING SO MUCH HE HAD NOT HAD THE TIME TO GET A DRIVER'S LICENSE, AND THAT HE AND HIS FAMILY WERE RETURNING TO THEIR HOME IN NORTH CAROLINA. AT THAT TIME I PLACED THE DEFENDANT UNDER ARREST WHERE HE WAS ISSUED A UNIFORM TRAFFIC CITATION FOR AN EXPIRED TAG, 4971-GJX (6). HE WAS ALSO ISSUED A UNIFORM TRAFFIC CITATION FOR DRIVING ON AN EXPIRED LICENSE FOR MORE THAN FOUR MONTHS, 4972-GJX (7). THE DEFENDANT WAS GIVEN A MANDATORY COURT DATE OF 123010 AT 1300 HOURS, AND ISSUED WRITTEN WARNING 312556B FOR DRIVING IN THE WRONG LANE UPON A FLORIDA HIGHWAY. THE DEFENDANT'S BOND WAS SET AT $250.00 PER THE BOND SCHEDULE.
