| Probable cause affidavit: | SUBMITTED BY: CARRERAS, JOSE 0481 (AR09108834) UNLAWFULLY AND KNOWINGLY HAVE IN HIS ACTUAL OR CONSTRUCTIVE POSSESSION A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, TO WIT: CRACK COCAINE, IN VIOLATION OF FLORIDA STATE STATUTE 893.13(6)(A) AND On 050109 at approximately 1630 hours, I responded to the Citrus Hills Lodge located at 350 East Norvell Bryant Highway in HERNANDO in reference to assisting in a narcotics investigation. Upon arrival, I made contact with Sergeant (SGT) Ferrara inside of the Citrus Hills Lodge, in room 220. Sgt Ferrara advised that Detective Blair was in the process of writing a search warrant for the room due to narcotics being found in plain sight. SGt Ferrara showed this deputy a small plastic bag containing a white crystallized substance WHICH I recognized through training and experience to be consistent with crack cocaine. Sgt Ferrara showed this deputy some small specs of a white rock-like substance that was located on top of the dresser. In addition, Sgt Ferrara showed this deputy more rock-like residue located on top of the main table alongside a digital scale and a large amount of United States Currency. Prior to MY arrival, Deputy Coleman placed both DEFENDANT Aquilla Wilson and DEFENDANT Reji Smith under arrest and transported them to the Citrus County Detention Facility. These subjects were both occupants of the room. Another subject, a black female juvenile, was also on scene but released. I began collecting several items found in plain sight. I collected a plastic bag containing the white crystallized substance located on top of the first bed. This substance was field tested and yielded a positive reaction for the presence of cocaine. Next, I collected small specs of a white rock-like substance located on top of the dresser. This item was field tested and yielded a positive reaction for the presence of cocaine. Furthermore, i collected a digital scale, thirty two hundred dollars in United States Currency, two small thin red straws, and additional small specs of a white rock-like substance located on top of the main table. The small specs of a white rock-like substance was field tested and yielded a positive reaction for the presence of cocaine. Upon Detective Blair arriving on scene with the search warrant, sergeant Ferrara AND I conducted a search within the scope of the warrant for other narcotics and paraphernalia. Additional items located were two small plastic bags containing residue of a white rock-like SUBSTANCE in each. These items were also field tested and yielded a positive reaction for the presence of cocaine. The first small plastic bag was located inside a large grey shopping bag that was found on top of the main table next to the digital scale, United States Currency and residue. The second plastic bag was located inside the drawer of the night table. Upon speaking with Deputy Coleman, he advised thAT he conducted a taped interview with Defendant Wilson. In the interview, Defendant Wilson claimed responsibility for the narcotics and paraphernalia inside of the room. When asked where the money came from, defendant Wilson advised deputy coleman that the money belonged to defendant Smith, and that defendant Smith dID his own deals elsewhere. Deputy Coleman confirmed with defendant Smith that the United States Currency found on top of the main table was his. *NOT-EXEMPT* |
