| Comments: | Sex offenders have always lived in our communities; but it was not until passage of the community protection act of 1990 (which mandates sex offender registration) that law enforcement even knew where they were living. In many cases, law enforcement is not able to share that information with you. Citizen abuse of this information to threaten, intimidate or harass registered sex offenders will not be tolerated. Further, such abuse could potentially end law enforcement's ability to do community notifications. We believe the only person who wins if community notification ends is the sex offender, since sex offenders drive their power through secrecy. According to official documents AUSTIN D HAYWORTH assaulted a known 5 year old female by placing a Barbie doll into the child's vagina while he was bathing her. The victim disclosed to her mother and the mother called the Police. HAYWORTH took an Alford plea of guilty to the lesser charge of Assault of a Child in the Third degree with Sexual Motivation. Count II according to official documents HAYWORTH touched a known 10 year old female on the vagina over her clothing while carrying her to the bus stop. The victim also disclosed that on several occasions HAYWORTH asked to insert toys into her vagina while she bathed. The victim would tell HAYWORTH "NO" and he did not follow through. Other times HAYWORTH would ask to touch the victim and attempt to bribe the victim with candy. The victim would decline and leave the room. HAYWORTH took an Alford plea of guilty to the lesser charge of Communication with a Minor for Immoral Purposes. HAYWORTH is under DOC supervision for 36 months from his date of release (6-17-15).
