Probable cause affidavit: SUBMITTED BY: COLES, DAVID 0146 (AR08101266) COMMIT THE OFFENSE OF BURGLARY TO AN UNOCCUPIED DWELLING WHILE UNARMED PURSUANT TO FLORIDA STATE STATUTE 810.02(3)(B), AND GRAND THEFT (VALUE GREATER THAN $300.00 BUT LESS THAN $5,000.00) PURSUANT TO FLORIDA STATE STATUTE 810.014(2)(C), AND ONE COUNT OF BURGLARY TO A CONVEYANCE WHILE UNOCCUPIED AND UNARMED PURSUANT TO FLORIDA STATE 810.02(4)(b), AND TWO COUNTS OF PETIT THEFT (LESS THAN $100.00), PURSUANT FLORIDA STATE STATUTE 810.014(3)(A). ON 011608, WHILE CONDUCTING A FOLLOW-UP INVESTIGATION REFERENCE THIS REPORT (CASE 07120696), I MADE CONTACT WITH CO-DEFENDANT MATTHEW PIERCE. CO-DEFENDANT PIERCE DID PARTICIPATE IN A SWORN TAPED INTERVIEW AFTER BEING READ MIRANDA WARNING FROM A PREPRINTED CARD. CO-DEFENDANT PIERCE ADVISED HE DID UNDERSTAND EACH OF HIS RIGHTS AND DID WISH TO CONTINUE SPEAKING WITH ME. CO-DEFENDANT PIERCE STATED THAT HE WAS WITH TWO OTHER SUBJECTS (CO-DEFENDANTS) A FEW DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS, AT WHICH TIME, THEY RESPONDED TO HIS GRANDMOTHER'S HOUSE (VICTIM). CO-DEFENDANT PIERCE STATED THAT HE AND CO-DEFENDANT KENNETH BLAKE, STOOD IN FRONT OF THE RESIDENCE AS LOOK-OUTS WHILE DEFENDANT BRIAN BLAKE ENTERED the RESIDENCE THROUGH THE BEDROOM WINDOW LOCATED ON THE NORTH END OF THE RESIDENCE. CO-DEFENDANT PIERCE STATED THAT DEFENDANT BRIAN BLAKE STOLE A LAPTOP COMPUTER AND OTHER COMPUTER COMPONENTS FROM INSIDE THE RESIDENCE. CO-DEFENDANT PIERCE STATED THAT the STOLEN ARTICLES WERE PLACED IN DEFENDANT BRIAN BLAKE'S VEHICLE, AT which TIME, THEY RESPONDED TO A RESIDENCE IN FLORAL CITY, WHERE DEFENDANT BRIAN BLAKE TRADED THE COMPUTER FOR METHAMPHETAMINE. CO-DEFENDANT PIERCE STATED HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING WAS WRONG BUT DID NOTHING TO STOP THE CRIME NOR DID HE TELL ANYONE ABOUT THE CRIME AFTER IT WAS COMMITTED. I THEN MADE CONTACT WITH DEFENDANT BRIAN BLAKE IN THE FRONT YARD AT HIS RESIDENCE. DEFENDANT BRIAN BLAKE ADVISED HE WOULD SPEAK WITH ME. DEFENDANT BRIAN BLAKE DID PARTICIPATE IN A SWORN TAPED INTERVIEW AFTER BEING READ MIRANDA WARNING FROM A PREPRINTED CARD. DEFENDANT BRIAN BLAKE ADVISED HE DID UNDERSTAND EACH OF HIS RIGHTS AND DID WISH TO CONTINUE SPEAKING WITH ME. DEFENDANT BRIAN BLAKE STATED HE DID RESPOND TO THE VICTIM'S RESIDENCE (MOTHER-IN-LAW) A FEW DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS WITH CO-DEFENDANT MATTHEW PIERCE AND CO-DEFENDANT KENNETH BLAKE. DEFENDANT BRIAN BLAKE STATED HE ENTERED THE RESIDENCE THROUGH A BEDROOM WINDOW WHILE CO-DEFENDANT KENNETH BLAKE AND CO-DEFENDANT MATTHEW PIERCE REMAINED OUTSIDE THE RESIDENCE. DEFENDANT BRIAN BLAKE STATED HE DID STEAL A LAPTOP COMPUTER AND ACCESSORIES FOR THAT COMPUTER. DEFENDANT BRIAN BLAKE STATED THAT AFTER HE EXITED THE RESIDENCE WITH THE ARTICLES, THEY RESPONDED TO FLORAL CITY AND HE TRADED THE STOLEN ARTICLES FOR METHAMPHETAMINE AND SOME CASH. DEFENDANT BRIAN BLAKE STATED THAT ON A DIFFERENT DATE IN DECEMBER, 2007, HE BROKE INTO A VEHICLE NEXT DOOR TO HIS RESIDENCE, ALONG WITH CO-DEFENDANT KENNETH BLAKE, AND THEY REMOVED A BOX FULL OF COINS AND A BANK BAG WHICH CONTAINED CASH (CASE 07120489). DEFENDANT BRIAN BLAKE STATED HE AND CO-DEFENDANT KENNETH BLAKE, ON A DIFFERENT DATE, ALSO STOLE A WALLET FROM A CUSTOMER'S RESIDENCE WHERE HE WAS PERFORMING A JOB FOR HIS COMPANY (CASE08010374). DEFENDANT BRIAN BLAKE STATED THIS OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY ONE WEEK AGO AND AFTER THEY HAD LEFT THE RESIDENCE, THEY REMOVED the CASH (APPROXIMATELY $20.00) FROM THE WALLET AND THEY DISCARDED IT IN A WOODED AREA OFF DAWSON AVENUE, IN HERNANDO. DEFENDANT BRIAN BLAKE ALSO STATED THAT HE HAD COMMITTED THEFTS AT OTHER TIMES IN AND OUTSIDE OF CITRUS COUNTY, FLORIDA. ONE OF THE THEFTS HAS BEEN REPORTED TO THE MARION COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE AND THIS INFORMATION WILL BE FORWARDED TO THEM FOR FOLLOW-UP INVESTIGATION. CONTACT WAS THEN MADE WITH CO-DEFENDANT KENNETH BLAKE WHO ALSO PARTICIPATED IN A SWORN TAPED INTERVIEW AFTER BEING READ MIRANDA WARNING FROM A PREPRINTED CARD. CO-DEFENDANT KENNETH BLAKE STATED THE WEEK BEFORE CHRISTMAS, HE RESPONDED TO HIS COUSIN'S DEFENDANT BRIAN BLAKE) MOTHER-IN-LAW'S RESIDENCE WHERE THEY STOLE A COMPUTER AND COMPUTER ACCESSORIES. CO-DEFENDANT KENNETH BLAKE STATED HE AND CO-DEFENDANT MATTHEW PIERCE STAYED OUTSIDE OF THE RESIDENCE WHILE DEFENDANT BRIAN BLAKE ENTERED THE RESIDENCE THROUGH A WINDOW AT THE FAR END. CO-DEFENDANT KENNETH BLAKE STATED THAT THE STOLEN LAPTOP COMPUTER AND ACCESSORIES WERE THEN TAKEN TO A RESIDENCE IN FLORAL CITY AND DEFENDANT BRIAN BLAKE TRADED THEM FOR MONEY. CO-DEFENDANT KENNETH BLAKE STATED HE WENT TO WORK WITH HIS COUSIN, DEFENDANT BRIAN BLAKE, APPROXIMATELY ONE WEEK AGO AND WHILE AT SEVERAL RESIDENCES, STOLE ARTICLES FROM THE RESIDENCES THEY WERE SERVICING. CO-DEFENDANT KENNETH BLAKE STATED THAT WHILE AT ONE RESIDENCE IN CITRUS SPRINGS, HE STOLE A WALLET FROM THE COUNTER IN THE KITCHEN AND AFTER THEY LEFT THE RESIDENCE, THEY REMOVED THE MONEY AND HE THREW THE WALLET INTO THE WOODED AREA OFF DAWSON AVENUE, IN HERNANDO (CASE 08010374). CO-DEFENDANT KENNETH BLAKE STATED THAT HE AND DEFENDANT BRIAN BLAKE ALSO BROKE INTO A VEHICLE IN DECEMBER, 2007, AT DEFENDANT BRIAN BLAKE'S NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOR'S RESIDENCE AND THEY TOOK A BOX FULL OF COINS AND A MONEY BAG WHICH CONTAINED CASH (CASE 07120489). CO-DEFENDANT KENNETH BLAKE ALSO ADMITTED TO COMMITTING A THEFT IN OCALA WHILE AT WORK WITH DEFENDANT BRIAN BLAKE. AFTER OBTAINING THESE STATEMENTS, ALL THREE DEFENDANTS WERE PLACED UNDER ARREST AND TRANSPORTED TO THE CITRUS COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY BY DEPUTY POTTER. DEFENDANT BRIAN BLAKE AND CO-DEFENDANT KENNETH BLAKE WERE TRANSPORTED FIRST. DEPUTY POTTER RESPONDED BACK TO CO-DEFENDANT PIERCE'S RESIDENCE AND PLACED HIM UNDER ARREST AFTER THE FIRST TRANSPORT WAS COMPLETED. CONTACT WAS MADE WITH EACH VICTIM IN REFERENCE TO ADVISING THEM OF THE ARRESTS THAT HAD BEEN MADE. the VICTIM IN CASE 07120696 STATED THE COMPUTER EQUIPMENT WAS WORTH APPROXIMATELY $2,085.00, AND SHE DID NOT GIVE PERMISSION FOR ANY OF THE DEFENDANTS TO ENTER HER RESIDENCE WHEN SHE WAS NOT HOME NOR DID SHE GIVE THEM PERMISSION TO REMOVE ANY ARTICLES FROM HER RESIDENCE, AND SHE WISHED FOR EACH OF THEM TO BE PROSECUTED. CONTACT WAS THEN MADE WITH THE VICTIM IN CASE 07120489) IN REFERENCE TO THE MONEY THAT WAS STOLEN FROM HIS VEHICLE (APPROXIMATELY $78.00). THE VICTIM IN THIS CASE STATED HE DID NOT GIVE THE DEFENDANTS PERMISSION TO ENTER HIS VEHICLE NOR DID HE GIVE PERMISSION FOR ANYTHING TO BE REMOVED FROM HIS VEHICLE. CONTACT WAS THEN MADE WITH THE VICTIM IN CASE 08010374 IN REFERENCE TO HIS WALLET BEING STOLEN FROM HIS RESIDENCE. THE VICTIM STATED HE DID NOT GIVE THE DEFENDANTS PERMISSION TO TAKE HIS WALLET OR ANY OF THE CONTENTS FROM WITHIN HIS WALLET. IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT DEFENDANT BRIAN BLAKE AND CO-DEFENDANT KENNETH BLAKE SHOWED ME THE AREA WHERE THE WALLET HAD BEEN DISCARDED, AND I WAS ABLE TO RECOVER THE WALLET, WHICH WAS PHOTOGRAPHED AND RETURNED TO THE VICTIM AFTER HE SIGNED A PROPERTY RECEIPT. THE VICTIM STATED THE ONLY ITEM MISSING FROM THE WALLET WAS $20.00 CASH AND SEVERAL CREDIT CARDS THAT HE HAD ALREADY CANCELLED. DEFENDANT BRIAN BLAKE IS BEING CHARGED WITH ONE COUNT OF BURGLARY TO AN UNOCCUPIED DWELLING WHILE UNARMED AND GRAND THEFT (VALUE GREATER THAN $300.00 BUT LESS THAN $5,000.00), FOR HIS PARTICIPATION IN THE BURGLARY AND GRAND THEFT REFERENCE CASE 07120696. DEFENDANT BRIAN BLAKE IS ALSO BEING CHARGED WITH ONE COUNT OF BURGLARY TO A CONVEYANCE UNOCCUPIED WHILE UNARMED AND PETIT THEFT REFERENCE THE ARTICLES (MONEY) THAT WERE TAKEN FROM THAT CONVEYANCE REFERENCE CASE 07120489. DEFENDANT BRIAN BLAKE IS ALSO BEING CHARGED WITH ONE COUNT OF PETIT THEFT REFERENCE ARTICLES THAT WERE REMOVED FROM A DWELLING (REFERENCE CASE 08010374).
