| Comments: | On 10-1-1991 Edwards was found guilty of the crime of Child Molestation in the first degree and was given a term of 40 weeks in a Juvenile Institution. The victim in this crime was a 4 year old male who was offended against in the restroom. On July 20, 1992 Edwards pled guilty to 3 counts of Rape of a Child in the First degree and 2 counts of Child Molestation that involved separate victims in each count. Edwards was given a term of 195 weeks in a Juvenile Institution. Edwards formed a club called the "Eagles Club" and the purpose was to sexually victimize young children living in and around the apartment complex that Edwards lived in. The victims report that they were forced to attend club meeting where the victims were assaulted. On July 22, 1997 Edwards was sentenced to 120 months in prison for the Crime of Indecent Liberties with Forcible Compulsion. The victim in this crime was a 10 year old male. This victim reported that he was assaulted many times by Edwards, who threatened him with a knife, beat him with sticks, choked him and threatened the victim if he did not comply, he would kill the victim. All of the listed crimes took place between July and August of 1991. The victims in most of these crimes disclosed being a victim after Edwards was sent to the Juvenile Institution for his first offense. Edwards was released from prison and transferred to the Civil Commitment where he has been since 2006. While in prison and the special Commitment Center, Edwards has been in treatment. In the process of Civil Commitment, a Clinical Psychologist was required to complete an evaluation and determined that he was not "more likely than not to engage in predatory act of sexual violence". Edwards has been in the Institution from age 14 to 32. Because of this ruling, he was released into the community on April 13, 2010. He is not on active supervision.
