UPON ARRIVAL, CONTACT WAS MADE WITH THE VICTIM, MR MATTHEW SIMS, INSIDE OF HIS RESIDENCE. THE VICTIM ADVISED ON 021611 HE RETURNED HOME AT APPROXIMATELY NOON FOR HIS LUNCH BREAK AND NOTICED THAT HIS SISTER-IN-LAW, LATER IDENTIFIED AS THE DEFENDAnt, ms brittany graSso, was at his residence visiting with family, including his wife. the victim advised he believed he had placed his wallet on the entertainment center and left it there while he was at his home. the victim advised later in the afternoon, while paying bills, he noticeD that a one hundred dollar bill was missing frOm his wallet. the victim advISEd thaT the defendant was known to steal and had stolen from him before. he stated the defendant was possibly the person who had stolen the money out of his wallet while she was at his apartment. THE VICTIM'S WIFE/DEFENDANT'S SISTER, LATER IDENTIFIED AS MS SHAUNNA GRASSO, MADE CONTACT WITH THE DEFENDANT, IN MY PRESENCE VIA TELEPHONE. WHEN SHAUNNA ASKED THE DEFENDANT ABOUT THE MISSING MONEY, I HEARD THE DEFENDANT INITIALLY DENY THE ALLEGATIONS. I THEN SPOKE WITH THE DEFENDANT AND ADVISED HER THAT IF I OBTAINED PHYSICAL EVIDENCE SHE WOULD BE PLACED UNDER ARREST AND THAT IT WOULD BE BEST IF SHE WAS JUST HONEST ABOUT THE MISSING MONEY. THE DEFENDANT ADVISED OVER THE TELEPHONE THAT SHE DID IN DEED TAKE THE MONEY AND WOULD RESPOND TO THE VICTIM'S RESIDENCE IN ORDER TO RETURN FIFTY DOLLARS WHICH WAS ALL THAT WAS REMAINING OF THE ORIGINAL ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS SHE HAD STOLEN. WHEN THE DEFENDANT ARRIVED ON SCENE, SHE RETURNED FIVE TEN DOLLAR BILLS, FOR A TOTAL OF FIFTY DOLLARS, TO THE VICTIM IN MY PRESENCE. AT THAT TIME, I READ THE DEFENDANT HER MIRANDA WARNINGS VIA PRE-PRINTED AGENCY CARD, TO WHICH SHE STATED SHE UNDERSTOOD AND WAIVED HER RIGHTS AND AGREED TO SPEAK WITH ME. THE DEFENDANT ADVISED THAT SHE HAD IN FACT STOLEN THE ONE HUNDRED BILL OUT OF THE VICTIM'S WALLET WHILE SHE WAS AT THE VICTIM'S RESIDENCE EARLIER IN THE DAY. THE DEFENDANT ADVISED SHE THOUGHT SHE WOULD GET AWAY WITH IT AND THAT SHE HAD SPENT FIFTY DOLLARS OF THE ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ON FOOD, GAS AND CIGARETTES. THE DEFENDANT ALSO ADVISED SHE DID NOT CURRENTLY HAVE A JOB AND HAD NO INTENTION TO PAY THE VICTIM BACK. THE DEFENDANT PROVIDED A SWORN WRITTEN STATEMENT WHICH WAS LATER TURNED IN TO RECORDS. THE DEFENDANT WAS CRYING AND APPEARED REMORSEFUL FOR THE THEFT. I THEN ADVISED THE DEFENDANT THAT SHE WAS UNDER ARREST FOR FELONY THEFT. SHE WAS HANDCUFFED (DOUBLE LOCKED) BEHIND HER BACK AND SECURED IN THE REAR SEAT OF MY PATROL VEHICLE FOR TRANSPORT TO THE CITRUS COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY. PRIOR TO LEAVING THE SCENE, THE VICTIM PROVIDED A SWORN WRITTEN STATEMENT WHICH WAS ALSO LATER TURNED IN TO RECORDS. THE DEFENDANT WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE CITRUS COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY FOR FURTHER PROCESSING. UPON ARRIVAL, SHE WAS BOOKED AND HELD ON A BOND OF $2,000.00, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE BOND SCHEDULE.
