| Comments: | SMITH, Carl N. was convicted of Indecent Liberties and Attempted Rape 2nd Degree in Pierce County in 1990. According to official documents, Smith entered the Eastside Community Center and asked the receptionist about swimming times at the pool. At some point, Smith reached over the counter with both hands and grabbed the female victim's breasts for a moment. He then released her and ran out the door and across the street. An employee pursued Smith, who was observed to approach a woman walking on the sidewalk. He then grabbed the female from behind and placed his hand over her screaming mouth. The employee pushed Smith away and he fled. Two days later, Smith returned to the Eastside Community Center and entered a bathroom stall in the women's bathroom where a 14 year-old female was located. Smith grabbed her and tried to pull her pants down. The victim began screaming and Smith tried to kiss her. An employee entered the bathroom, interrupting the assault. Smith fled and was later located at his mother's home nearby. Mr. Smith has two other sexual assault-related arrests for which he was not charged. Smith entered a business and approached a female talking on the phone. Smith physically grabbed her from behind, reaching through her legs with one arm while using his other arm to hold her still. The victim managed to get away and Smith fled. The second incident involved Smith grabbing a female jogger and pulling her to the ground. The victim bit Smith and was able to escape. Smith is no longer under the Department of Corrections supervision and, therefore, has no release conditions. |
