| Comments: | Sex offenders have always lived in our communities; but it was not until passage of the community protection act of 1990 (which mandates sex offender registration) that law enforcement even knew where they were living. In many cases, law enforcement is not able to share that information with you. Citizen abuse of this information to threaten, intimidate or harass registered sex offenders will not be tolerated. Further, such abuse could potentially end law enforcement's ability to do community notifications. We believe the only person who wins if community notification ends is the sex offender, since sex offenders drive their power through secrecy. According to official records, Aukland pled guilty to the crime of Assault 2nd Degree with Sexual Motivation on 12-1-2005. He was given a term of 57 months in prison with a max term of life. Between April and May of 2004, Aukland sexually assaulted his girlfriend's 6 year old niece. The victim in this case was told not to tell anyone or she would get hurt. Aukland was charged with Rape of a Child in the 1st Degree and pled guilty to Assault 2nd with Sexual Motivation. Aukland was released on 2-25-2010 into the community. Aukland violated his conditions of release for traveling outside the county, Failing to make progress in sexual deviancy treatment and being terminated from treatment. Missing Moral Recognition Therapy and being terminated from this program. He was given a term of 30 months in prison for his violations and still has a max term of life on this conviction. Aukland is on active supervision for life with the Department of Corrections, Everett Office: 425-356-2800 " Probation Conditions Shall not possess or peruse pornographic materials. Shall not work at or be in places frequented by minors. Shall enter into and successfully participate in counseling programs as directed. Shall obtain permission before traveling outside of the county in which he resides. May not leave the State of Washington without prior written permission from his Community Corrections Officer. Shall not use, possess, consume any controlled substances without a lawfully issued prescription. Shall not remain overnight in a residence where minor children live or are spending the night. Shall not date individuals, nor form relationships with families who have minor children, unless he receives prior approval from his Community Corrections Officer. Submit to polygraph examination as required. Shall not purchase, own, have in his possession or under his control any firearm or deadly weapon, ammunition or explosives. Do not enter Bars, Taverns or Lounges. No contact with minors. Shall not enter parks, playgrounds or schools. Shal not reside with anyone who is a parent/legal guardian of minor children. Shall not access the internet or e-mail by electronic devices. Shall have no direct or indirect contact with any victim. |
