SUBMITTED BY: DERA, MARK 0688 (AR15-16092) DID TRAFFIC, OR ENDEAVOR TO TRAFFIC IN STOLEN PROPERTY THAT THE DEFENDANT SHOULD HAVE KNOWN WAS STOLEN, TO WIT: A .35 CARAT DIAMOND RING, IN VIOLATION OF FLORIDA STATE STATUTE, 812.019(1). DID UNLAWFULLY AND KNOWINGLY OBTAIN, USE OR ENDEAVOR TO OBTAIN OR USE THE PROPERTY OF THE VICTIM, TO-WIT: A .35 CARAT DIAMOND RING, OF THE VALUE OF THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($300.00) OR MORE, BUT LESS THAN FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5,000.00), WITH THE INTENT TO EITHER TEMPORARILY OR PERMANENTLY DEPRIVE THE VICTIM OF A RIGHT TO THE PROPERTY OR A BENEFIT THEREOF, OR DID APPROPRIATE THE SAID PROPERTY TO HIS OWN USE OR THE USE OF ANY PERSON NOT ENTITLED THERETO, IN VIOLATION OF FLORIDA STATUTE, 812.014(2)(C)(1). DEFENDANT KNOWINGLY GAVE FALSE VERIFICATION OF OWNERSHIP OF A DIAMOND RING, AND THE DEFENDANT GAVE A FALSE OR ALTERED IDENTIFICATION AND WHO RECEIVED MONEY IN THE AMOUNT OF $80.00 FROM THE ABC PAWNBROKER, IN VIOLATION OF FLORIDA STATE STATUTE, 539.001(8)(B)(8). ON 081815, THIS AGENCY RECEIVED A REPORT OF A THEFT THAT ALREADY OCCURRED. THE VICTIM, MS MARTHA BISSONETTE, ADVISED THAT HER SON, MR CHRISTOPHER BISSONETTE/SUSPECT, REMOVED HER MARQUIS .35 CARAT DIAMOND SOLITAIRE RING FROM HER RESIDENCE WITHOUT HER PERMISSION. SHE FURTHER ADVISED THAT SHE HAD SINCE LEARNED THAT HER SON/SUSPECT HAD PAWNED HER RING AT THE ABC PAWN LOCATED AT 3697 SOUTH SUNCOAST BOULEVARD IN HOMOSASSA WITHOUT HER PERMISSION. INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE SUSPECT DID PAWN HIS MOTHER VICTIMâS RING AT THE ABC PAWN ON 050215 AT 1149 HOURS REFERENCE TRANSACTION FORM 25885. THE SUSPECT WAS IDENTIFIED BY HIS FLORIDA DRIVERâS LICENSE. THE SUSPECT PROVIDED HIS RIGHT THUMBPRINT SIGNING THE TRANSACTION FORM PLEDGING THE PROPERTY WAS NOT STOLEN AND ATTESTING TO BEING ITS RIGHTFUL OWNER. CONTACT WAS MADE WITH THE SUSPECT AT THE CITRUS COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY WHERE HE IS INCARCERATED ON UNRELATED CHARGES. I CONDUCTED A DIGITALLY RECORDED INTERVIEW WITH THE SUSPECT AND READ HIS MIRANDA WARNINGS FROM A PRE-PRINTED AGENCY CARD. THE SUSPECT ADVISED THAT HE UNDERSTOOD AND WAS WILLING TO SPEAK WITH ME. THE SUSPECT ADMITTED THAT HE TOOK HIS MOTHER/VICTIMâS RING WITHOUT HER PERMISSION AND PAWNED THE RING AT THE ABC PAWN. HE FURTHER STATED THAT IT WAS NOT HIS RING AND HE DID NOT HAVE PERMISSION TO PAWN IT. THE SUSPECT WAS REMORSEFUL FOR STEALING FROM HIS MOTHER/VICTIM, AND ADVISED HE HAS A PILL PROBLEM AND NEEDS HELP. THE SUSPECT WAS THEN PLACED UNDER ARREST FOR THE ABOVE LISTED CHARGES AND TURNED OVER TO DETENTION PERSONNEL FOR BOOKING AND PROCESSING. THE DEFENDANTâS BOND WAS SET AT $5,000.00 FOR THE CHARGE OF TRAFFICKING/ENDEAVORING TO TRAFFIC IN STOLEN PROPERTY, $2,000.00 FOR THE CHARGE OF GRAND THEFT ($300 OR MORE, LESS THAN $5,000.00) AND $2,000.00 FOR THE CHARGE OF FALSE VERIFICATION OF OWNERSHIP FOR A TOTAL BOND OF $9,000.00. |
