| Comments: | In 1993, Christopher Israel SAUNDERS was convicted of Child Rape 2nd Degree. SAUNDERS met the 12 year old female victim through a family relative who was dating the victim's older sister. The victim expressed interest in SAUNDERS but her mother discouraged this behavior and told SAUNDERS that her daughter was only 12 years old. SAUNDERS continued to see the victim and on the next occasion that he saw her, SAUNDERS took the victim to her bedroom and began kissing and fondling her. When the victim told him to stop, SAUNDERS told the victim 'If you want to go out with me you have to put out'. SAUNDERS then had sexual intercourse with the victim. In 2000, SAUNDERS was convicted of Communication with a Minor for Immoral Purposes. SAUNDERS had met the 14 year old female victim at a friend's apartment. SAUNDERS offered the victim and beer and she accepted the beer. SAUNDERS then took the victim into the bathroom at the apartment and asked her to have sex with him. When the victim refused, SAUNDERS put his hands inside his own pants and masturbated in front of the victim. SAUNDERS has also admitted to two other sexual relationships with minor females during his adulthood but no criminal charges have been filed in those incidents. SAUNDERS' criminal history includes the following: 2002 - Theft 1st Degree; 2001, 2005 (x2), 2006 (x2), 2008, and 2011 - Failure to Register as a Sex Offender; 1994 - Attempted Residential Burglary; 1992- Shoplifting, Theft, Minor in Possession; 1986 - Minor in Possession, and between 1999 and 2000 several traffic related violations. It does not appear that SAUNDERS participated in the Sex Offender Treatment Program while he was incarcerated. SAUNDERS will be under community supervision by the Washington State Department of Corrections. Due to SAUNDERS' sexual and criminal history, he has been classified as a LEVEL 3 Sex Offender. This allows the Pierce County Sheriff's Department to disclose relevant, necessary, and accurate information to the public at large. |
