| Comments: | In 1986, Daniel E. CARNES was convicted of Rape 1st Degree. CARNES broke into an adult female victim's residence and entered her bedroom while she was sleeping. CARNES sat on top of the victim and threatened her with a pair of shears that he had taken from the victim's utility room. CARNES told the victim that if she screamed he would kill her. CARNES tied the victim's hands and then sexually assaulted her. The rape was interrupted by the victim's roommate and CARNES fled the residence. In 1996 CARNES was convicted of Residential Burglary with Sexual Motivation. CARNES unlawfully entered a residence through and unlocked front door. Once in the residence, CARNES sexually exposed himself to two young female victims ages 11 and 12. The victims screamed and CARNES fled the residence. CARNES later approached another residence and sexually exposed himself to an adult female through a sliding glass door that was partially open but secured with a locking device. CARNES standing outside the door asked the victim to perform oral sex on him. The victim called 911 and CARNES fled the area. CARNES's other criminal history includes the following convictions: 1993-Burglary 2nd Degree, 1986-Theft 3rd Degree, 2003-Domestic Violence Assault 3rd Degree, Felony Harassment, and Unlawful Imprisonment, 2007-Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, Criminal Trespass 2nd Degree and Theft 3rd Degree, and 2008-Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. CARNES was recently released from prison after serving a sentence for the 2008 Failure to Register as a Sex Offender conviction. CARNES has not participated in the Sex Offender Treatment program. CARNES is currently under community supervision with the Washington State Department of Corrections. Due to CARNES's sexual criminal history, he has been classified as a LEVEL 3 Sex Offender.
