| Comments: | In 2002 CARPENTER was convicted in Lewis County Superior Court of Rape of a Child 3rd Degree and Attempted Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. The crime involved him having sexual contact and intercourse with a 15-year-old female when he was 25 years old. At the time of his arrest for those offenses he was on active supervision with DOC for a non-related felony conviction. As a result of the sex offense conviction he was sentenced to 60 months in prison. He was released from prison for those charges on 07/11/05. While on DOC community supervision for the sex offenses he was involved in other non-sexual crimes and was again sentenced to prison. He was last released from prison on 04/12/07 and remains under DOC community supervision. CARPENTER did not participate in sex offender treatment during his incarceration. Based on his involvements with the victim, the lack of sex offender treatment, and his continued criminal behavior, he has been identified as a high risk to re-offend and this notification is required. |
