Comments: | Daniel L. Wright was released from prison after serving 11 years of a life sentence for convictions of Assault 1st with Sexual Motivation and Burglary 1st. The victim in this case was a 32 year- old mentally delayed female who was in her kitchen preparing breakfast. Wright broke into her residence and attempted to rape her. When she tried to flee, Wright produced a knife and slashed the victim across the chest and stabbed her in the stomach and arm. Wright then fled. The victim lived despite her injuries. Wright was also convicted of House Breaking, Sodomy, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, and Indecent Acts with a Child in Federal/Military Court. The victim in this case was a 13 year- old female. All of the above crimes occurred in Bremerton, Washington, during a three week period in 1983. Wright successfully completed the Sex Offender Treatment Program at Twin Rivers Correctional Center. He was viewed as A leader in the program and has successfully identified the behaviors that allowed him to sexually act out. If he chooses to use the interventions he has developed, he could significantly reduce his risk to the community. Based on Wright's previous history of predatory and violent behavior, Wright is still considered a high risk to reoffend. Wright is no longer on supervision and his only requirement is to register. |
