| Narrative: | On the above date and time, officers of the Brooksville Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash on North Broad Street near the intersection of Mondon Hill Rd. Upon arrival, officers observed a blue Chevrolet van crashed into the tree line with heavy damage and a white male, later identified as David Eppley, staggering away from the crash. Officers made contact with Eppley who appeared heavily intoxicated. Eppley advised he crashed into the trees when a vehicle coming from the other direction ran him off the roadway. Eppley was then given field sobriety exercises which he performed poorly. He was then placed under arrest for DUI. He was transported to the Hernando County Jail where he was given the opportunity to submit to a breath test, which he refused. A check of his identification revealed a prior suspension for refusing to submit to a breath test. Eppley was charged with DUI w/ property damage and refusal to submit to a breath test. He is being held on $1,500.00 bond. |
