| Probable cause affidavit: | SUBMITTED BY: FIELDS, JEREMY FHP/2446 (AR09108880) DID DRIVE OR WAS IN ACTUAL PHYSICAL CONTROL OF A VEHICLE WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF AN ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE, MODEL GLUE OR ANY SUBSTANCE CONTROLLED UNDER CHAPTER 893 OR CHAPTER 877.111 TO THE EXTENT HIS NORMAL FACULTIES WERE IMPAIRED, IN VIOLATION OF FLORIDA STATE STATUTE 316.193. THE CITRUS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE INITIATED A TRAFFIC STOP ON THE VIOLATING VEHICLE FOR SPEED. THEY SUMMONED FOR ASSISTANCE FROM MYSELF AND TROOPER GOSWICK FOR A POSSIBLE DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE (DUI) INVESTIGATION. UPON MY ARRIVAL MYSELF AND TROOPER GOSWICK MADE CONTACT WITH THE DEFENDANT WHO WAS LATER IDENTIFIED AS MR DAVID SPENCER RICHEY. I OBSERVED THE DEFENDANT TO HAVE CONTRACTED PUPILS AND UNSTEADY WALKING ABILITY. THE DEFENDANT MADE A SPONTANEOUS STATEMENT THAT HE IS ADDICTED TO VICODIN PILLS. TROOPER GOSWICK CONDUCTED THE DUI INVESTIGATION AS I OBSERVED. THE DEFENDANT PERFORMED ALL FIELD SOBRIETY EXERCISES VERY POORLY. SUBSEQUENTLY THE DEFENDANT WAS ARRESTED AND TRANSPORTED TO THE CITRUS COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE DEFENDANT'S BOND WAS SET AT $500.00 PER THE BOND SCHEDULE. *NOT-EXEMPT* |
