| Probable cause affidavit: | SUBMITTED BY: WHITSEL, MICK FHP (AR16-21816) DID DRIVE A MOTOR VEHICLE UPON A HIGHWAY IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA WITHOUT HAVING A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE AUTHORIZING HIM TO DO SO, IN VIOLATION OF FLORIDA STATE STATUTE NUMBER 322.03(1). On 120216 AT 0705 HOURS, in Citrus County, I was conducting speed enforcement of U S HIGHWAY 98 just east of U S HIGHWAY 19 in Homosassa. I conducted a traffic stop on a white 2002 CHEVROLET Pickup truck for traveling westbound at 78 mILES pER hOUR (MPH) in a posted 60 mph zone. The driver pulled over onto the right shoulder of U S HIGHWAY 98 and stopped. I approached on the passenger side. I made contact with the driver, who identified himself as MR Denival F Souza. MR Souza advised that he was going to work. There were two other males in the truck with MR Souza. When I asked MR Souza for his driverâs license he advised that he did not have one and has never had one. I instructed MR Souza to exit the vehicle and walk to the rear of the truck with me. I asked MR Souza again about his driverâs license and he stated that he has never had one. At that point, MR Souza was arrested and taken back to my patrol car. MR Souza placed a call to his boss and advised of the situation. A passenger in the truck, MR Daniel Roque, who had a valid Florida LICENSE was ALLOWED to drive the vehicle away. MR Souza was then transported to the CITRUS COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY for processing. THE DEFENDANTâS Bond WAS set at $1,000.00 as per the bond schedule. |
