Commentaries: | Comments According to official documents, Petersen was convicted of Rape in the First Degree and Indecent Liberties. He was released from Echo Glenn in 1988. He re-offended in September of 1989; Petersen again was convicted in October of 1989 for three (3) counts of Child Molestation in the 1st degree. He was given a term of 163 weeks in a juvenile facility. The victims in his crimes were male children between the ages of 5 and 9. He has been diagnosed as a pedophile. After Petersen finished his sentence for these crimes, he was placed at the Civil Commitment Center. In June of 1995 it was found by the courts that Petersen be released into a Less Restrictive Alternative within the community. Petersen has to reside in a home that has 24 hour supervision and can not be in the community without someone being with him at all times, unless the courts change his conditions. Petersen has been living in the Community since August of 1996 and is moving to another location on Happy Valley Road. The Marysville Office of the Department of Corrections will supervise Petersen: 360-658-2150. Since Petersen was released to a Less Restrictive Alternative his conditions may change by court order. Less Restrictive Alternative releases are subject to changes in conditions that could be less restrictive or more restrictive depending upon court orders that are mandated by Federal laws. Shall have no contact with his victims or their families. Shall have no contact with minors less than 21 years of age. Shall not frequent establishments or meeting of organizations, which cater to minors (under 21 years of age). Shall obey all laws. Shall participate in Sexual Deviancy Treatment. |
