| Narrative: | On the above date and time, officers of the Brooksville Police Department responded to 821 Continental Drive in reference to a battery complaint. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim who advised she was in an argument with her fiancé, Derrick Thomas, who resides with her. The argument became physical when Thomas struck her in the head with his fist. Thomas then grabbed a 20lb. dumbbell and struck her in the side. She called 9-1-1 and Thomas fled the area on foot. The victim had minor injuries consistent with her statement and refused medical treatment. Officers attempted to locate Thomas but were unsuccessful. A warrant was processed for Thomas’ arrest reference aggravated domestic battery. On 8/23/12 at approximately 1731 hours, officers returned to the residence for a DCF assist. When officers arrived, they located Thomas in the home. He was arrested on the warrant and transported to the Hernando County Jail where he is being held without bond. |
