| Commentaries: | Comments According to official documents, Owens, pled guilty to Child Molestation in the first degree and was given a term of 78 months on 1-19-1993. Owens who was babysitting a 6 year old male sexually assaulted him several times. The victim and his family frequently stay at Owens home as the victim did not have a permanent housing. During the investigation, two other victims (females) came forward, ages 7 and 10. Owens admitted on 6 separate occasions he offended against these two females. Owens pled guilty to the Child Molestation of the Male victim and the other two cases (females ages 7 and 10) were dismissed. In 1981 Owens was convicted of Indecent Liberties on a 9 year old female. Owens had a prior relationship with the victim, in the form of babysitting her. Owens would pull up the victim skirt and kiss her on the chest and lips and pull down her pants. Owens would offer to buy the victim gifts if she did not report the assault. The evening before this 1981 assault, Owens assaulted two other females, ages 8 and 11. Owens was convicted of Indecent Liberties against the 9 year old female in a plea bargain. Owens was also convicted of Sodomy in 1960 in the State of Maine. At that time he was given probation and ordered to leave the State of Maine. Owens was offered treatment and he reported that he does not believe in Therapy and for the 11 years that he was at Special Commitment Center on McNeil Island, he has not participated in sex offender treatment. Owens is on active supervision with the Marysville Office of the Department of Corrections. 360-658-2150.
