SUBMITTED BY: MELHADO, BRYAN 0618 (AR11120801) DID, KNOWING her DRIVER'S LICENSE OR DRIVING PRIVILEGE HAD BEEN CANCELLED, SUSPENDED OR REVOKED, DRIVE A MOTOR VEHICLE UPON THE HIGHWAYS OF THIS STATE WHILE SUCH LICENSE OR PRIVILEGE WAS CANCELLED, IN VIOLATION OF FLORIDA STATE STATUTE 322.34(2)(A). ON 051711 AT 1034 HOURS, THE SUBJECT WAS STOPPED REFERENCE A SPEEDING VIOLATION. UPON VERIFICATION OF THE DEFENDANT'S DRIVER'S LICENSE IT WAS FOUND TO BE SUSPENDED. I MADE CONTACT with the DRIVER/DEFENDANT; MS DOROTHY SMITH WHO VERIFIED THAT SHE KNEW HER DRIVER'S LICENSE WAS SUSPENDED. I ADVISED HER THAT SHE WAS GOING TO BE PLACED UNDER ARREST FOR DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED DRIVER LICENSE. AT THAT TIME, THE DEFENDANT WAS HANDCUFFED BEHIND HER BACK (DOUBLE-LOCKED) AND PLACED IN the REAR SEAT OF MY PATROL VEHICLE. I ADVISED THE DRIVER THAT SHE WAS INITIALLY SPEEDING AT 85 MILES PER HOUR (MPH) IN A 60 MPH ZONE, and THAT I WOULD BE writing her A CITATION FOR THAT ALONG WITH A CITATION FOR DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED (DWLS). SHE WAS NOTIFIED THAT SHE WAS BEING ARRESTED FOR DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED LICENSE, AT WHICH POINT I ASKED HER WHAT WE SHOULD DO WITH HER VEHICLE. The DEFENDANT ASKED IF HER HUSBAND COULD PICK THE VEHICLE UP, AT WHICH POINT I made CONTACT WITH HER HUSBAND MR DAVID SMITH, AND ARRANGEMENTS WERE made FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE LEFT AT THE CRYSTAL RIVER MALL NEAR OFFICE MAX WHERE the VEHICLE WOULD LATER BE PICKED UP. THE DEFENDANT WAS THEN TRANSPORTED TO the CITRUS COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY WHERE SHE RECEIVED TWO CITATIONS; CITATION 5647-GJX1 FOR SPEED, AND CITATION 5648-GJX2 FOR DWLS/R WITH A COURT DATE OF 061311 AT 1300 HOURS. THE DEFENDANT ALSO HAD IN HER POSSESSION, THREE PRESCRIPTION BOTTLES, ONE OF WHICH WAS IN HER HUSBAND'S NAME DAVID SMITH THAT WAS CLONAZEPAM 1 MILLIGRAM QUANTITY (QTY)148, ALSO A PILL BOTTLE IN the DEFENDANT'S NAME WITH CARISOPRODOL 350 MILLIGRAM QTY 34, AND ONE EMPTY PILL BOTTLE IN the DEFENDANT'S NAME ORIGINALLY CONTAINING MORPHINE. THESE ITEMS WERE LISTED ON A PROPERTY RECEIPT ALONG WITH THE DEFENDANT'S PURSE and WERE TURNED OVER TO the DESK PERSONNEL AT the DETENTION FACILITY, and a copy of the property receipt was turned in to the citrus county sheriff's office records department. THE DEFENDANT'S BOND WAS SET AT $500, PER the BOND SCHEDULE.
