| Comments: | According to official documents Miner was convicted of 1st degree Rape and 1st degree Burglary on 02/09/1984 in Whatcom County Superior Court. He was sentenced to a life sentence on the rape charge and not more than 20 years concurrent on the burglary charge. Miner served 228 months before being found parolable by the Indeterminate Sentence Review Board. This incident was the result of Miner breaking into the residence of a known adult female tying her to the bed and raping her at gun point. The victim was an ex-girlfriend of Miner who had been known to her as Jerry Richter. Miner had started a relationship with the victim in July of 1982 and told her that he was an FBI agent. At one point during the relationship Miner had someone call the victim and report that he was dead. She ended the relationship when she found out that his identity was false. On 11/13/1983 the victim woke up to find a masked man standing near her bed pointing what she believed to be a gun at her. She recognized the person as Miner/Richter. She was then raped. Miner did not attend sex offender treatment while in prison and still denies the offense. Miner is not on active supervision and his only requirement is to register as a sex offender. |
