| Comments: | Sex offenders have always lived in our communities; but it was not until passage of the community protection act of 1990 (which mandates sex offender registration) that law enforcement even knew where they were living. In many cases, law enforcement is not able to share that information with you. Citizen abuse of this information to threaten, intimidate or harass registered sex offenders will not be tolerated. Further, such abuse could potentially end law enforcement's ability to do community notifications. We believe the only person who wins if community notification ends is the sex offender, since sex offenders drive their power through secrecy. According to official documents, Hauff pled guilty on July 15, 2009 to the crime of Communication with a Minor for Immoral Purposes, a Felony. He was given a term of 51 months in prison. Hauff harbored a known 14 year old famale runaway and had sexual intercourse with the victim on numerous occasions. The Offender admitted his crimes. In May of 2008 Hauff was convicted of Lewd Conduct in which he pulled his pants down and exposed his genitals. Hauff was deemed as a high priority for sex offender treatment with the Department of Corrections, but due to his behavior and late application to the program he was no able to attend. Shall not reside with anyone who is a parent/legal guardian of minor children. Shall not possess or peruse pornographic materials. Shall not use, possess, consume any controlled substances without a lawfully issued prescription. |
