ON 111911 I RESPONDED TO THE BEALLS DEPARTMENT STORE IN CRYSTAL RIVER IN REFERENCE TO A SHOPLIFTER IN CUSTODY. UPON ARRIVAL, I MADE CONTACT WITH THE COMPLAINANT, MR CHAD WHITLER, THE LOSS PREVENTION OFFICER FOR BEALLS DEPARTMENT STORE. MR WHITLER ADVISED THAT HE HAD OBSERVED THE DEFENDANT, MS ENJOLI BRADY, WHO HAD PREVIOUSLY PURCHASED A WHITE IN COLOR FLORIDA GATORS T-SHIRT AND CONTINUED SHOPPING AFTER HER INITIAL PURCHASE. HE ADVISED HE OBSERVED MS BRADY SELECT A BLUE IN COLOR FLORIDA GATORS T-SHIRT, REMOVE IT FROM ITS HANGER, PLACE THE SHIRT IN HER SHOPPING BAG AND PASS ALL POINTS SALE WITHOUT AN ATTEMPT TO PAY FOR THE ITEMS. THE DEFENDANT WAS STOPPED BY THE COMPLAINANT OUTSIDE THE LOSS PREVENTION OFFICE IN FRONT OF THE STORE. HE IDENTIFIED HIMSELF WITH HIS IDENTIFICATION BADGE AND VERBALLY STATING THAT HE IS A LOSS PREVENTION OFFICER. THE DEFENDANT WALKED WITH HIM TOWARDS THE STORE STATING THAT SHE WAS GOING TO PAY FOR THE SHIRT. AS HE OPENED THE DOOR TO HIS OFFICE, THE DEFENDANT TRIED TO PUSH PAST HIM, AT WHICH TIME, HE HAD TO FORCIBLY GRAB HER BY THE ARM AND PULL HER INTO THE OFFICE. ONCE INSIDE THE OFFICE THE DEFENDANT CALMED DOWN, AT WHICH TIME, HE NOTIFIED THIS AGENCY. UPON MY ARRIVAL, THE DEFENDANT ADVISED THAT SHE WAS JUST ATTEMPTING TO SWAP THE SHIRTS; HOWEVER, WHEN I WAS SPEAKING WITH THE LOSS PREVENTION OFFICER ABOUT WHETHER THE MALE SUBJECT THAT WAS WITH HER WAS INVOLVED, SHE STATED THAT SHE WAS THE GUILTY ONE AND THAT NO ONE ELSE WAS INVOLVED. THE DEFENDANT WAS PLACED UNDER ARREST AND SECURED IN THE REAR SEAT OF MY PATROL VEHICLE AND TRANSPORTED TO THE CITRUS COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY (CCDF). UPON ARRIVAL SHE WAS CHARGED WITH ONE COUNT OF RETAIL PETIT THEFT. THE DEFENDANT'S BOND WAS SET AT $500.00 PER THE BOND SCHEDULE.
