Inmate name: | Fredy Henriquez |
Charge description: | A 268th District Court jury sentenced Fredy Henriquez to life in prison on May 1, 2015 after convicting him of Aggravated Assault against a Public Servant for his role in the shooting of Stafford Officer Ann Carrizales. Officer Carrizales was shot in the face and chest after which Henriquez fled the scene. Henriquez drove dangerously on the wrong side of the road running stop signs, stoplights, and almost crashing into other vehicles. Heroically, Officer Carrizales chased her assailant and returned fire despite being wounded. Officer Carrizales remained in pursuit even after she was fired on again. This terrifying incident was captured on her dashcam video back on October 26, 2013. This jury sent a clear message to this criminal defendant and to any criminal that would try to kill police officers... it will not be tolerated, said DeLozier. Aggravated Assault of a Public Servant is a first-degree felony punishable by 5 99 years or life in prison and a fine up to $10,000. With a prior Robbery conviction, Henriquez was not probation eligible and was exposed to a minimum of 15 years in prison. Assistant District Attorneys Chris DeLozier and Amanda Bolin prosecuted the case. Attorney James Stevens represented the defendant. Judge Brady Elliott presided over the case. |
