SUBMITTED BY: HUGHES, JAMES 0500 (AR11122927) DID, KNOWING HIS DRIVER'S LICENSE OR DRIVING PRIVILEGE HAD BEEN CANCELLED, SUSPENDED OR REVOKED, DRIVE A MOTOR VEHICLE UPON THE HIGHWAYS OF THIS STATE WHILE SUCH LICENSE OR PRIVILEGE WAS CANCELLED, IN VIOLATION OF FLORIDA STATE STATUTE 322.34(2). ON 092811, AT APPROXIMATELY 1256 HOURS, I RESPONDED AS BACK-UP FOR DETECTIVE CARRERAS, WHO WAS ON A TRAFFIC STOP AT THE INTERSECTION OF SOUTH SUNCOAST BOULEVARD AND CYPRESS BOULEVARD WEST, IN HOMOSASSA. UPON MAKING CONTACT WITH DETECTIVE CARRERAS, HE ADVISED THAT HE HAD INITIATED A TRAFFIC STOP, ON THE MAROON VAN LOCATED IN FRONT OF HIS PATROL VEHICLE, AFTER OBSERVING IT RUN A STOP SIGN AT THE INTERSECTION OF DOUGLAS STREET AND CYPRESS BOULEVARD WEST. HE DID ADVISE THAT UPON OBTAINING THE DRIVER'S/DEFENDANT'S, MR GERARD SMITH, LICENSE INFORMATION, IT HAD REVEALED THAT MR SMITH'S DRIVER'S LICENSE WAS CURRENTLY REVOKED FOR DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE. AT THAT TIME, I RESPONDED TO THE VEHICLE AND HAD ASKED THE DRIVER WHAT WAS GOING ON. AT THAT TIME, HE ADVISED THAT HE HAD GOTTEN CAUGHT DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED DRIVER'S LICENSE. HE ADVISED THAT HIS DRIVER'S LICENSE HAD BEEN REVOKED FOR QUITE SOME TIME FOR DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE . I DID ADVISE HIM AT THAT TIME, TO EXIT THE VEHICLE AND THAT HE WAS BEING PLACED UNDER ARREST FOR DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED DRIVER'S LICENSE . AT THAT TIME, he was HANDCUFFED (DOUBLE LOCKED) AND PLACED IN THE REAR OF MY PATROL VEHICLE. DETECTIVE CARRERAS, HAD WRITTEN THE DEFENDANT A WARNING, NUMBER 224207B, FOR RUNNING A STOP SIGN. THE DEFENDANT WAS TRANSPORTED, AT THAT TIME TO THE CITRUS COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY FOR BOOKING. THE DEFENDANT WAS ISSUED FLORIDA UNIFORM TRAFFIC CITATION, NUMBER 8504-GJXX, WAS WRITTEN, FOR DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED DRIVER'S LICENSE WITH A MANDATORY COURT DATE OF 101311 AT 1300 HOURS. THE DEFENDANT'S BOND WAS SET AT $10,000.00, PER THE BOND SCHEDULE.
