Narrative: Brooksville Police Officer’s were patrolling the Wal-Mart area when stopped by the Loss Prevention employee. He directed the officer to a patron that had purchased 19 gift cards at several different check outs, valued at $100 + each with four different credit cards. When the officer attempted to make contact the subject fled on foot. The subject was apprehended and identified as HUMBERTO G. LEON. Investigation revealed that the credit cards used by HUMBERTO G. LEON were fraudulent cards. Humberto post Miranda admitted that the cards were fake and that he was given the cards by a another subject in the Tampa area and was told to purchase the gift cards. He would be paid $35.00 for each card. HUMBERTO G. LEON was arrested and transported to Hernando County Jail where he was charged and held on bond.
