| Probable cause affidavit: | SUBMITTED BY: DUNN, MICHAEL 0759 (AR13-8132) DID, KNOWING HIS DRIVERâS LICENSE OR DRIVING PRIVILEGE HAD BEEN CANCELLED, SUSPENDED OR REVOKED, DRIVE A MOTOR VEHICLE UPON THE HIGHWAYS OF THIS STATE WHILE SUCH LICENSE OR PRIVILEGE WAS CANCELLED, IN VIOLATION OF FLORIDA STATE STATUTE 322.34(2)). ON 112613, I RESPONDED TO THE INTERSECTION OF NORTH CITRUS AVENUE AND WEST BRUNA LANE IN CRYSTAL RIVER AS BACK UP FOR A DEPUTY SEFFERN, JR. UPON ARRIVAL, HE ADVISED ME THAT HE HAD COMPLETED A TRAFFIC STOP ON MR JAMES CROCKETT, WHO WAS KNOWN TO HIM. DEPUTY SEFFERN JR ALSO ADVISED THAT HE KNEW MR CROCKETTâS DRIVERâS LICENSE HAD BEEN REVOKED. UPON COMPLETING HIS TRAFFIC STOP, DEPUTY SEFFERN, JR DETAINED MR CROCKETT AND CONDUCTED A SEARCH OF THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE FACT IT WAS GOING TO BE TOWED. AT THAT TIME, HE LOCATED A BLACK BOX WHICH CONTAINED WHAT APPEARED TO BE SOME TYPE OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA. THE BLACK BOX WAS REMOVED FROM THE VEHICLE AND TAKEN IN AS EVIDENCE. I THEN HAD MR CROCKETT COME TO MY PATROL VEHICLE WHERE I PATTED HIM DOWN ONCE AGAIN FOR CONTRABAND AND WEAPONS, WHICH WAS MET with NEGATIVE RESULTS. THE DEFENDANT WAS PLACED IN THE BACK SEAT OF MY PATROL VEHICLE, HANDCUFFED (DOUBLE LOCKED) BEHIND HIS BACK AND TRANSPORTED TO THE CITRUS COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY withOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. I ISSUED THE DEFENDANT A CRIMINAL CITATION FOR DRIVING ON A REVOKED LICENSE, CITATION NUMBER 8573-GQF9, WITH A MANDATORY COURT DATE OF 121913 AT 1300 HOURS. THE DEFENDANTâS BOND WAS SET AT $500.00, PER THE BOND SCHEDULE. ONCE AT THE DETENTION FACILITY, DEPUTY CHENOWETH TESTED THE ITEMS FOUND INSIDE the BLACK BOX IN AN ATTEMPT TO DETERMINE IF IT WAS AN ILLEGAL SUBSTANCE, WHICH WAS MET WITH NEGATIVE RESULTS. I WILL TURN OVER ITEMS TO âTIUâ LATER TODAY IN AN EFFORT TO HAVE THE ITEMS TESTED ONCE AGAIN FOR ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES. THE DEFENDANTâS VEHICLE WAS TOWED BY ADAMâS TOWING. |
