| Probable cause affidavit: | SUBMITTED BY: EMRICK, ALVIN 0104 (AR12124314) DID PREVENT/OBSTRUCT EXTINGUISHMENT OF FIRE/INTERFERE, IN VIOLATION OF FLORIDA STATE STATUTE, 806.10(1) DID UNLAWFULLY, WILLFULLY AND MALICIOUSLY INJURE OR DAMAGE CERTAIN PROPERTY OF THE CITRUS COUNTY DETENTION CENTER, TO-WIT: THE DEFENDANT DID WILLFULLY DAMAGE THE DETENTION CENTERS SPRINKLER HEAD, SAID DAMAGE BEING OF A VALUE OF $200.00 OR MORE, AND LESS THAN $1,000.00, IN VIOLATION OF FLORIDA STATUTE, 806.13(1)(B)92). ON 011012, I RESPONDED TOT THE CITRUS COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY IN REFERENCE TO AN INMATE WHO HAD DAMAGED THE FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM. UPON ARRIVAL I MADE CONTACT with SUPERVISOR BROWN, WHO STATED THAT THE DEFENDANT, JAMES GODWIN, BROKE OFF THE SPRINKLER HEAD WHICH CAUSED FLOODING IN THE SEGREGATION UNIT. I MADE CONTACT WITH CORRECTION OFFICER DIBBLE WHO OBSERVED THE DEFENDANT THROWING A CUP AT THE SPRINKLER HEAD. I THEN made CONTACT WITH THE DEFENDANT, JAMES GODWIN, AND ASKED HIM WHAT WAS GOING ON. HE STATED "NOTHING". I ASKED HIM HOW THE SPRINKLER HEAD WAS BROKEN, WHERE HE STATED IT HAD BROKEN ON ITS OWN. I ADVISED THE DEFENDANT THAT A CORRECTIONS OFFICER HAD WITNESSED HIM THROWING A CUP AT THE SPRINKLER, WHICH THE DEFENDANT THEN DENIED. THE DEFENDANT WAS ARRESTED AND TURNED OVER TO DETENTION STAFF FOR BOOKING AND PROCESSING WHERE HIS WAS HELD IN LIEU OF $2,500.00 BOND.
