Comments: In 2002 Mollenkopf was convicted in Lewis County Superior Court of Child Molestation 2nd Degree. The crime involved him sexually assaulting a 12-year-old boy that was not related to him. He had asked the boy to help him carry firewood to a campsite where he was staying and once there he assaulted the victim. Mollenkopf has not completed sex offender treatment as a result of his conviction. He was originally released from prison on 06/28/03 and remains on active supervision with the Department of Corrections. He was released again from prison on 04/30/07, after serving a sentence related to his failure to properly register as a sex offender. Because of the type of crime involved in his original conviction Mollenkopf presents a clear risk to re-offend and this community notification is being made.
