| Comments: | In November of 1977, Rutherford was convicted in Clark County for Assault 2. Rutherford (age 19) sexually assaulted an unknown female. The victim left a Laundromat and was followed to her residence by Rutherford. Rutherford claimed to be lost and asked the victim if he could use her telephone. Once in the residence, Rutherford knocked the victim to the floor, struck and choked her and attempted to sexually assault her. The victim was able to get away and run into her bedroom. In March 1980, Rutherford was convicted in Washington County, Oregon, for Rape 1. Rutherford (age 21) observed the 24 year old female victim driving alone in her vehicle and followed her to her residence. Rutherford approached the victim indicating he was lost and asked for directions. Rutherford then attacked the victim striking her several times. As the victim screamed, Rutherford choked her until she lost consciousness and sexually assaulted her.
