| Probable cause affidavit: | SUBMITTED BY: NEAL, GARRETT 0676 (AR13-4581) DID UNLAWFULLY HAVE IN HIS ACTUAL OR CONSTRUCTIVE POSSESSION A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, TO WIT: APPROXIMATELY 14.9 GRAMS OF COCAINE, IN VIOLATION OF FLORIDA STATE STATUTE 893.13(6)(A). On 022013, at approximately 1551 hours, K-9 Deputy Phillips and I initiated a traffic stop on a 1984 blue Cadillac bearing Florida LICENSE PLATE BAQL49 at 6680 West Gulf to Lake Highway IN Crystal River after the vehicle failed to come to a complete stop at the stop sign at North Heart Path and West Gulf to Lake Highway. K-9 Deputy Phillips made contact with the driver/defendant, MR Jarvis Oneal Patterson, and requested his driverâs license, registration, and proof of insurance. K-9 Deputy Phillips then conducted an exterior sniff of the vehicle utilizing K-9 Kino and advised that Kino alerted. The defendant was asked to exit the vehicle and the defendant stood by with K-9 Deputy Phillips while I conducted a search of the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle, I located a clear plastic baggie containing approximately 14.9 grams of powder cocaine under the driverâs seat. The cocaine was field tested using an agency issued filed test kit and yielded a positive result for cocaine. The defendant was then read his Miranda warnings via preprinted agency card and he advised that he understood his rights and would speak with me. The defendant admitted that the cocaine that was in the vehicle was his. On 022113, contact was made with the defendant at the Citrus County Detention Facility where he was placed under arrest for possession of cocaine. The defendant was then turned over to detention facility staff for booking and processing. The defendantâs bond was set at $5000 per the bond schedule. |
