| Comments: | Sex offenders have always lived in our communities; but it was not until passage of the community protection act of 1990 (which mandates sex offender registration) that law enforcement even knew where they were living. In many cases, law enforcement is not able to share that information with you. Citizen abuse of this information to threaten, intimidate or harass registered sex offenders will not be tolerated. Further, such abuse could potentially end law enforcement's ability to do community notifications. We believe the only person who wins if community notification ends is the sex offender, since sex offenders drive their power through secrecy. According to official documents Coker pled guilty to Indecent Liberties with a Child while in the US Coast Guard. Coker admitted victims were all under the age of 16 and were unknown to Coker. Coker admitted to contact with juvenile males in public restrooms and parks while attending sponsored gatherings involving juveniles with the intent to look at their genitals and to later fantasize about the incident. On one occasion Coker removed a victim from a basement activity in a church to a wooded area away from the church without the parent''s knowledge with the intent to look at the victims genitals and to fantasize about it later. On all occasions Coker admitted he put himself in situations where he could have direct contact with children by participating in US Coast Guard sponsored events. Coker was also found in possession of child pornography on his personal computer while in the US Coast Guard. Coker spent time in military confinement and is currently on supervision with the US Probation Officer, Everett, WA until August 10,2018. " Probation Conditions Entered |
