| Probable cause affidavit: | SUBMITTED BY: BRIGGS, RICHARD 0089 (AR16-19944) DID, KNOWING HIS DRIVERâS LICENSE OR DRIVING PRIVILEGE HAD BEEN CANCELLED, SUSPENDED OR REVOKED, DRIVE A MOTOR VEHICLE UPON THE HIGHWAYS OF THIS STATE WHILE SUCH LICENSE OR PRIVILEGE WAS CANCELLED, IN VIOLATION OF FLORIDA STATE STATUTE 322.34(2)(A). ON 061916 AT APPROXIMATELY 1047 HOURS, I OBSERVED THE DEFENDANT, MR JEFFREY CURTIS, MAKE AN IMPROPER LANE CHANGE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION AT WEST MAIN STREET AND HIGHWAY 41 NORTH. I ACTIVATED MY OVERHEAD LIGHTS AND CONDUCTED A TRAFFIC STOP. THE DEFENDANT'S VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP IN THE PARKING LOT OF WALGREENS IN INVERNESS. I MADE CONTACT WITH THE DEFENDANT AT HIS VEHICLE AND ASKED FOR HIS DRIVER'S LICENSE, REGISTRATION AND PROOF OF INSURANCE, AT WHICH TIME HE WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE HIS DRIVER'S LICENSE. I INQUIRED ABOUT HIS DRIVER'S LICENSE AND HE ADVISED THAT IT WAS NOT VALID AND IT WAS SUSPENDED. I OBTAINED THE DEFENDANT'S NAME AND DATE OF BIRTH AND CONDUCTED A DRIVER'S LICENSE CHECK VIA TELETYPE. DISPATCH ADVISED THAT the DEFENDANT'S DRIVER'S LICENSE WAS SUSPENDED NUMEROUS TIMES. AFTER RECEIVING THIS INFORMATION THE DEFENDANT WAS PLACED UNDER ARREST AND TRANSPORTED TO THE CITRUS COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY, WHERE HIS BOND WAS SET $1,000.00, PER THE BOND SCHEDULE. THE DEFENDANT WAS ISSUED UNIFORM TRAFFIC CITATION NUMBER A21D4JP, FOR IMPROPER LANE CHANGE, WITH A $166.00 FINE, PAYABLE WITHIN 30 DAYS AT THE CITRUS COUNTY COURTHOUSE. HE WAS ALSO ISSUED UNIFORM TRAFFIC CITATION NUMBER A1P239P, FOR DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED KNOWINGLY, WITH A MANDATORY COURT APPEARANCE ON 063016 AT 1300 HOURS, AT THE CITRUS COUNTY COURTHOUSE. |
