| Narrative: | Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Cortez Blvd and US 41 reference a hit and run accident. Upon arrival and according to witnesses the defendant JEREMY BRIAN KARDOS was operating a red 1990 Toyota pickup truck heading east on Cortez Blvd approaching US 41. KARDOS veered off the road at US 41 (Broad Street) and ran over the automated pedestrian cross sign and pole that was located on the south/west corner of the intersection. According to witnesses KARDOS then proceeded south on US 41 (Broad Street) in a reckless manner. KARDOS drove thru the intersection of US 41 and Powell Rd then made a left turn driving thru the grass median and crossing 5 lanes of north bound US 41 traffic. KARDOS then drove thru the vacant gas station parking lot and proceeded east bound on Powell RD. Witnesses followed KARDOS until he came to a stop at the intersection of the Powell Rd and Racers Way. KARDOS was taken into custody and transported to the Hernando County Detention Facility without incident. KARDOS is being held on a $250 bond. |
