| Probable cause affidavit: | \tSUBMITTED BY: WHITSEL, MICK FHP (AR16-21646) \tdid, knowing HIS driver's license or driving privilege had been cancelled, suspended or revoked AS A HABITUAL TRAFFIC OFFENDER, drive a motor vehicle upon the highways of this state while such license or privilege was cancelled, in violation of Florida Statute 322.34(5). \t \tOn 111416 at 1115 HOURS, I conducted a traffic stop located in Crystal River on u s HIGHWAY 19 at Turkey oak DRIVE. The vehicle was a black 1995 ford f-150, BEARING florida LICENSE PLATE DNPF40. \t \tThe driver of the VEHICLE pulled over onto Ashburn LANE just north of the Ford dealership. I met with the driver at the passenger side door. The driver had no excuse for his speed. \tI asked the driver for his driverâs license and he advised that he did not have one. The driver advised that it was suspended. I asked him if he had any kind of identification on him. \t \tThe driver handed me a Florida IDENTIFICATION card IDENTIFYING himself as MR Jesse Ray Mathis, DATE OF BIRTH 062768. An NCIC/FCIC check revEAled that his driverâS license was suspENDED and revoked several times for DUI. \t \tThe revocations were from 121605 for 10 years driving under the influence; 061708, revoked 60 months Habitual Traffic Violator AND 061809, revOKED INDEFINITELY FOUR or more FOR DUIS. \t \tI walked back up to the truck and advised MR Mathis that he was going to be arrested for Driving while license suspended. MR MATHIS used his CELLULAR TELEPHONE to call the vehicle owner and made arRangements to come pick up the vehicle so it would noT be towed. \t \tMR Mathis was then arrested and placed in haNd restRaints behind his back and put in the back seat of my patrol VEHICLE. MR MATHIS WAS THEN transported to the Citrus County DETENTION FACILITY for processing. THE DEFENDANTâS Bond WAS set at $10,000.00 per THE bond schedule. \t \t \t \t |
