The victim's mother attended the same church as Obert and offered to baby sit her children for free. Obert molested the older girl and instructed her not to tell. Obert also convinced the mother not to report the incident to police after she found out stating that he was going to commit suicide and promised to get involved in treatment. This offense occurred in 1995 and Obert served his full 3 year sentence. In 1975, Obert sexually assaulted a 7-year old family member on at least 50 occasions.
