SUBMITTED BY: alexander, dawn 0561 (ar11118675) did, knowing HIS driver's license or driving privilege had been cancelled, suspended or revoked AS A HABITUAL TRAFFIC OFFENDER, drive a motor vehicle upon the highways of this state while such license or privilege was cancelled, in violation of Florida Statute 322.34(5) ON 010410, I SAW A WHITE DODGE DAKoTa pickup TRUCK PASS ME With A HISPANIC MALE DRIVING. at that time i observed that the driver was not wearing his SEAT BELT. i THEN got behind the pickup truck where i ran the tag of the vehicle, D902KQ, AND CONDUCTED A TRAFFIC STOP. I MADE CONTACT WITH THE DRIVER AND ASKED FOR HIS DRIVER'S LICENSE, REGISTRATION AND INSURANCE. THE DRIVER, LATER IDENTIFIED AS THE DEFENDANT, GEORGE VARGAS, THEN HANDED ME A FLORIDA IDENTIFICATION CARD AND ADVISED ME THAT HIS FLORIDA DRIVER'S LICENSE WAS SUSPENDED. I ASKED HIM WHY HE WAS DRIVING WHERE HE THEN STATED THAT HE HAD TO WORK. AT THAT TIME, I RETURNED TO MY VEHICLE AND RAN A DRIVER' S LICENSE CHECK on tHE DRIVER. THIS REVEALED THAT THE DEFENDANT'S DRIVER'S LICENSE HAD BEEN SUSPENDED OR REVOKED FOR FIVE YEARS, which STARTED ON 101806 AND SET TO EXPIRE ON 101711. the defENDANT was then placed under arrest for driving on a REVOKED DRIVER'S license. THE DEFENDANT WAS issUEd written warning, 311652 (b), for not wearing his seat belt, and ALSO issued a uniform traffic citation, 4692gjx (2), for driving on a revoked license (habitual) for five years with a mandatory court date of 012011 at 1300 hours. the bond was set at $2,000.00 per the bond schedule. THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OVER TO THE REGISTERED OWNER.
