| Narrative: | On the above date and time, an officer of the Brooksville Police Department performed a traffic stop on a silver Chrysler van for an equipment violation in the parking lot of 1950 E. Jefferson Street. Contact was made with the driver, Joseph Murphy, who advised that his license was not valid. A computer check revealed (14) suspensions and revocations including a revocation in 2009 for 60 months reference habitual traffic offender. The officer then placed Murphy under arrest. While doing so, the officer found four pieces of crack cocaine in Murphy’s hand. The crack cocaine field tested positive. Post Miranda, Murphy admitted to buying the crack for $30.00 on Twigg Street prior to being stopped by the officer. Murphy was transported to the Hernando County Jail where he was charged with possession of crack cocaine and DWLSR (Habitual). He is being held on $22,000.00 bond. |
