| Comments: | According to Official documents, Gillespie was convicted of Two Count of Rape of a Child in the 1st degree in Snohomish County Juvenile Court on 6-10-1996 with a maximum sentence until 1-12-1997. Gillespie was found engaging in sexual activity with a 6 year old male. Gillespie admitted engaging in oral-genital contact with his victim on five occasions. Gillespie acceptance of a plea bargain allowed additional allegations that Gillespie sexually assaulted a 7 year old boy to be dismissed. While on parole Gillespie committed several parole violations that were sexual in nature by exposing himself in March of 1997. Gillespie has demonstrated a pattern of inappropriate sexualized behavior including 16 incidents of sexually inappropriate behavior that included making sexual comments to staff at the group home that he was in, numerous incidents of starting at children and women's breast, asking a 16 year old girl whom he had never met, if she knows the four letter work rape , arguing with staff that a six year old can have consensual sex, and telling a female staff assistant that he has been fantasizing about another staff member and that she has the perfect body to have sex with Gillespie's parole was revoked and he was sent back to the Institution. Gillespie was then Civilly committed to the Special Commitment Center on 11-11-1997 and after two months was sent to a treatment facility in South Carolina where he resided until his return to the Special Commitment Center on 12-27-2000 where he remained until his release. While in treatment in South Carolina he indicated he had about 35 victims, both male and female ranging in age from 3 to adult. While he was in treatment in South Carolina at the youth treatment facility (ages 17-20) he had access to minors and did not exhibited any sexually acting out. Gillespie was civilly committed on the belief that he was demonstrating a persistent lifelong deviant sexual behavior. However, the inappropriate sexual behavior he exhibited as a minor has significant decreased to the point he was found no longer to meet the criteria as a Sexually Violent predator anymore. Gillespie was given his release by the courts and in NOT on supervision. |
