| Commentaries: | Comments According to official documents Norton was found guilty by stipulated bench trial in Snohomish County Superior Court on 01/04/2005 of one count of First Degree Child Molestation and one count of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. He was sentenced to 60 months in prison for the child molestation and 12 months for the failure to register to be served concurrently. These convictions were the result of Norton sexually assaulting the known 10 year old victim five years prior when Norton would have been 15 years old. During this investigation he was also found to have an outstanding warrant for failing to register as a sex offender. Norton completed the sex offender treatment program during this incarceration. On 11/19/1999 Norton plead guilty in Snohomish County Superior Court Juvenile Division to four counts of Child Molestation in the First Degree. He was sentenced to 52 weeks per count totaling 208 weeks in the custody of the Juvenile Rehabilitation Administration. This conviction was the result of Norton sexually assaulting the known eleven year old female victim who was a family member. Norton participated in sex offender treatment while at JRA. Norton is on active supervision with the Washington State Department of Corrections, Everett office (425) 290-3200, for a period of 36 months and has the following conditions: Do not access the internet on any computer in any location, unless such access is approved in advance by the supervising CCO and your treatment provider. Any computer to which you have access is subject to search. Do not date women nor form relationships with families who have minor children, as directed by supervising CCO Do not have direct or inderect contact with victim. Do not initiate or prolong contact with minor children without the presence of an adult who is knowledgeable of the offense and has been approved by the supervising Community Corrections Officer. Do not possess or access pornographic materials, as directed by the supervising CCO. Do not frequent establishments whose primary business pertains to sexually emplicit or erotic material . Do not possess or consume alcohol and do not frequent establishments where alcohol is the chief commodity for sale. Do not possess or consume controlled substances unless you have a legally issued prescription. Do not possess or control any item designated or used to entertain, attract or lure children. Do not possess or control sexual stimulus material for your particular deviancy. Do not remain overnight in a residence where minor children live or are spending the night. Do not seek employment or volunteer positions which place you in contact with or control over minor children Participate and make progress in sexual deviancy treatment. Participate in offense related counseling programs. Participate in substance abuse treatment as directed by the supervising CCO Participate in urinalysis, breathalyzer, plethysmograph and polygraph examinations as directed by the supervising CCO, to ensure conditions of community custody |
