SUBMITTED BY: HILBERER, BRIAN 4007 (AR11123454) ON 110511, THE DEFENDANT DID OPERATE A MOTOR VEHICLE IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA, AND HAVING KNOWLEDGE THAT HE HAD BEEN DIRECTED TO STOP SAID VEHICLE BY A DULY AUTHORIZED LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER DRIVING A MARKED PATROL VEHICLE, DID WILLFULLY REFUSE OR FAIL TO STOP SAID VEHICLE IN COMPLIANCE WITH SUCH DIRECTIVES, WITH SPEED REACHING IN EXCESS OF 100 MILES PER HOUR, IN VIOLATION OF FLORIDA STATE STATUTE, 316.1935(1). DID THEN AND THERE, DRIVE A VEHICLE IN WILLFUL OR WANTON DISREGARD FOR THE SAFETY OF PERSONS OR VEHICLES, TO WIT: DRIVING SOUTH IN A NORTHBOUND LANE AT SPEEDS IN EXCESS OF 90 MILES PER HOUR IN A POSTED 45 MILE PER HOUR ZONE, IN VIOLATION OF FLORIDA STATE STATUTE, 316.192(1)(A). ON 110511 AT APPROXIMATELY 0425 HOURS WHILE CONDUCTING A SECURITY CHECK ON SR 55 (HIGHWAY 19) IN THE AREA OF NORTH INGLIS AVENUE, I OBSERVED A VEHICLE TRAVELING SOUTHBOUND IN THE NORTHBOUND LANE AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. I VISUALLY ESTIMATED THE VEHICLE'S SPEED TO BE APPROXIMATELY 90 MILES PER HOUR. AT that TIME I ACTIVATED MY RADAR TO CONFIRM MY VISUAL ESTIMATE, WHICH GAVE A STEADY reading Of 93 miles per hour in a posted 45 mileS per hour zone. at that time i activated my emergency lights in an attempt to stop the vehicle, howEVER, the vehICLE conTINUED south on sr 55. i THEN ACTIVATED my siren, illuminated the vehicle with my spotlight WHILE conTINUING to follow the vehicle in the sOUTHbOUND lane of sr 55. the vehICLE THEN conTINUED sOUTH in to citrus county. upon REACHING the BARGE canal area, i paced the VEHICLE at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour. AT THAT TIME I CONTACTED dispatch AND INFORMED them i WAS in PURSUIT. I ADVISED DISPATCH TO contACT CITRUS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE to assist. the VEHICLE then contINUED south on sr 55 where the speeDS fluctuated betWEEN 70-100 miles per hour. upon entering crystal river, citRus countY deputies ASSISTED with stopping the vehICLE and taking the driver/DEFENDANT, IDENTIFIED AS MARK PUCKETT, in to custody. the defENDANT was then TRANSPORTED TO THE CITRUS COUNTY DETENTION CENTER for BOOKING AND PROCESSING. upon arrival at the DETENTION CENTER, the dEFENDANT was issued criminal traffic citation 4259 - glg for reckless driving and CRIMINAL TRAFFIC CITATION 4260 - glg for fleeing and eluding LAW ENFORCEMENT. boTH CITATIONS HAVE A mandATORY coURT DATE SCHEDULED FOR 112211 at 0900 hours at the levy county courthouse. THE DEFENDANT'S BOND WAS SET AT $5,250.00 PER THE BOND SCHEDULE.
