Probable cause affidavit: | Unlawfully traffic in property she knew was stolen; to wit: On 11/05/15, the victim reported to the Sheriffâs Office that some of her jewelry, specifically an Omega necklace and an Omega bracelet, were stolen. She listed the defendant as a suspect. Subsequent investigation revealed the defendant to have pawned an Omega necklace and bracelet on 10/07/15, at a Crystal River pawn shop. On 11/06/15, I made contact with the victim at the Pawn Shop. Prior to showing the jewelry to the victim, I had her verbally describe the jewelry to me and shop staff. Shop staff stated her description matched the property in their possession. She was shown the property and identified it as hers. She brought a second Omega case, as both pieces had been sold in one. She also brought a link that had been removed from the bracelet. The link had been removed in order for the bracelet to better fit the victim. The link matched the links in the bracelet. On 12/02/15, the defendant met me at the jail, where a sworn, digitally recorded was obtained, post-Miranda. She was charged with one count of Dealing in Stolen Property and later Released on her own Recognizance. |
