| Narrative: | The Brooksville Police Department Patrol Division reports that units responded to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office in reference to a battery that took place at Brook Haven Apartments. During the investigation it was found that Mathew Collins and his live in girlfriend had been involved in a verbal altercation at their apartment. During the argument Collins struck his girlfriend with a closed fist in the left side of the face. As Collins was leaving the apartment he removed his girlfriend's Apple I phone from her purse and took it with him. Collins was located at an address in Spring Hill by the Hernando County Sheriff's Office. Collins did voluntarily return to the Brooksville Police Department to be interviewed. During that interview Collins returned the cell phone to the investigating officer. Collins was taken into custody for domestic battery and grand theft. Collins was held at the Hernando County Jail under a no bond for the domestic battery and a $2000.00 bond for the grand theft. |
