| Comments: | In 1985, Atkins pleaded guilty to two counts of statutory rape in the second degree in King County, Washington. Atkins, then 33 years of age, sexually assaulted two non-familial females ages 13 and 12. Atkins did not know the girls. He was sentenced to 24 months incarceration for the crimes. In 1992, Atkins pleaded guilty to Attempted Child Molestation in the first degree in Snohomish County, Washington. The victim in this case was six year old girl who was an acquaintance. He was sentenced to 50 months incarceration for this crime. In 2000, Atkins pleaded guilty to two counts of Unlawful Imprisonment with Sexual Motivation in King County, Washington. According to official documents, Atkins sexually assaulted two known non-familial females, ages 5 and 6. He was initially charged with Rape of a Child in the first degree and Child Molest in the first degree. Atkins was sentenced to 120 months in prison for these crimes. While incarcerated, Atkins refused to participate in sex offender treatment. Atkins was deemed a Sexually Violent Predator and was admitted to the Special Commitment Center on McNeil Island in 2008. In 2015, per a stipulated agreement, Atkins was conditionally released to a Less Restrictive Alternative placement in the community.
