ON 070311, I WAS DISPatched TO WALLACE BROOKS PARK in inverness TO ASSIST DEPUTY scott ROUSH. UPON ARRIVAL, DEPUTY ROUSH AND OTHER DEPuTiES HAD THE DEFENDANT IN CUSTODY AND HE WAS PLACED IN MY PATROl vehicle. DUE TO DEPUTY ROUSH'S OBLIGATIONs AT WALLace brooks park, i took over the investigation. deputy roush STATED WHILE WORKING THE FIREWORKS EVENt at wallace brooks park, HE WAS STANdING near THE BOARDwalk. HE STATED HE OBSERVED AND HEARd THE DEFeNDANT MAKING LEWd AND OBSCENe REMARKS TO YOUNG GIRLS. DEPUTY ROUSH TURNED ON HIS FLASHLIGHT TO ILLUMINATE HIMSeLF AND AnNOUNCED, AS HE DID SO, "DEPUTY sheriff.". AT THAT TImE, THE DEFEnDANT RAN IN AN ATTEMPT TO ELUDE DEpUTY ROUSh. DEPuty Roush CAUGHT UP With THE DEFENDANT AND TOOK HIM INTO CUSTODY. THE DEFENDANT HAD A STRONG ODOR OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGe ON HIS PERSON and WHEN ASKED, the defendant STATED HE HAD HAD FOUR BEERS. I SPOKE WITH TWO WITNESSES BOTH OF WHoM STATEd THEY OBSERVED THE DEFeNdant BEING A NUISANCE AND being OBNOXIOUS, yeLLING AND SCREAMING FOR SOMEOne TO GIVE HIM A CIGarette. the witnesses stated IT APPEARED TO THEM THAT tHE defeNdant WAS INTOXICATED. THEY HEARD DEPUTY ROUSH IDENTIFY HIMSELF AND SAW THE DEFENDANT ATTEMPT TO ELUDE DEPUTY ROUSH BY RUNNING. AS THE DEFENDANT TURNED TO RUN, HIS ARM OR ELBOW STRUCK ONE OF THOSE WITNESSES WHO STATED SHE BELIEVED IT WAS NOT INTENTIONAL. THE DEFENDANT WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE CITRUS COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY and HELD IN LIEU OF $650.00 BOND.
