| Comments: | According to official documents Schnell was found guilty in Snohomish County Superior Court by stipulated bench trial on 03/28/2001 of one count of Child Molestation in the First Degree. He was sentenced to 51 months in prison. This conviction was a result of Schnell sexually assaulting a known 10 year old female victim in his home. Schnell said at the time he had been viewing child pornography for a week and had been thinking of having sex with a child. Schnell has admitted to sexually offending against children since his age of 13. He has admitted to sexually assaulting numerous children ages 1-6 years while acting as a foster parent. The current offense is his only conviction for a sex offense. Schnell did complete the sex offender treatment program during his incarceration, however his progress has been described as limited. Schnell no longer is on supervision and his only requirement is to register as a sex offender. |
