| Comments: | Sex offenders have always lived in our communities; but it was not until passage of the community protection act of 1990 (which mandates sex offender registration) that law enforcement even knew where they were living. In many cases, law enforcement is not able to share that information with you. Citizen abuse of this information to threaten, intimidate or harass registered sex offenders will not be tolerated. Further, such abuse could potentially end law enforcement's ability to do community notifications. We believe the only person who wins if community notification ends is the sex offender, since sex offenders drive their power through secrecy. According to official documents MYRON T JAMES @ age 33 sexually assaulted a known 14 year old female neighbor. JAMES was seated on the couch while the victim and his children were playing. Some of the kids went outside and the victim was inside. JAMES pulled the victim onto his lap and began to fondle her breasts outside of her shirt, he also grinded his pelvis into her. The female victim functions a lower level then others her age. Prior to this case being adjudicated, additional information and investigation took place. Other victims were identified and interviewed. On 3/15/2015 amended information was filed in Island County Court, charging JAMES with several sexually related crimes with different victims. JAMES pled guilty to the amended charges and was sentenced to confinement. MYRON T. JAMES is currently under WA DOC Supervision for a period of 36 months.
